Outside the doors of Purgatory Gym in Philadelphia, facilities staff are finishing up the last of the poster boards with the new promotional material for the opening fight of the venue. The front of the gym was illuminated with bright red spotlights, casting shade in between each one against the dark walls of the building. Jack stood with William Bowden and Isabella Luciano outside the glowing facade amid photographers and reporters. There were some other public faces in attendance, as well as the usual crowd which followed the boxing scene.

"Ladies and gentlemen, thank you for joining us here on the pier this evening."

Jack spoke, he was direct and did not pause for the chatter to die down. Eventually there was just his voice on the evening air.

"This day has been long coming for us here at Race Street. Until this moment our fights have been run from a makeshift location on the end of the pier. Following the perfecting of our system and with the combined financial backing from the Luciano family and William Bowden's own operation, we will be holding the fights exclusively from this location on the Delaware river, Purgatory Gym."

The facilities staff finally finished, leaving just the trio and a number of bodyguards, bouncers and promotional staff milling around the entrance to the gym.

"This new venture will officially be launched on Saturday 15th September, where we will see the highly anticipated rematch between Gavin Byrne and Mr. Bowden himself. We have an under card fight lined up, which is also a rematch and will see one of Philly's own, Joe Adonis, seek redemption against Seattle's Tyki Mikk."

Jack allows for the reactions to subside before continuing. 

"This event is the first of many. Following this there will be a tournament launched where we will seek a fighter from every city. These men or women will  battle it out over 24 bouts for a prize pot expected to reach in excess of One Hundred Million dollars.

"For those interested in participating, we have fliers around the gym with insight into the system and will soon post more with future events detailed. For now, please feel free to attend on the night. There will be some fixed rate gambling opportunities to make things interesting and the event will continue across as many days as necessary. So if you can't make opening night, don't worry. We expect things to carry on for a number of days.

"Now, if there's no further questions...?"

He hovers at the entrance for a while, Isabella and William stepping up to stand with him. 

Isabella stood with JackMezzo and near to her ... somewhere, was William_Bowden.  She hadn't looked at her business partner since arriving, except for the brief moment it took to greet him and shake his hand.  She'd kept that as professional as possible out of respect for Don Mezzo and to prevent further gossip.  She'd been in Philly for over a week now, and people were beginning to whisper as to why she'd not even gone home for a brief visit to The Tower.  Perhaps, she hoped, they would think it was in preparation for Purgatory's inaugural fight.

This fight (a rematch really) was bound to make the first attempt look like a schoolyard spat by comparison and unlike last time, Isabella had firmly decided she did have a pony in this race.  In fact, she damn well meant to bet on him generously if only to dispel any doubt whose corner she stood in.  The conflict between William and Gavin over her affections had gone to Gavin... but the battle between two hurt, angry men in the ring where they were allowed to... NO expected to, beat the ever-loving fuck out of one another ... now that was going to be s fight for the audience and betters to remember.

Isabella watched the crowd dispassionately, pleased to see that her gut had been right about one thing... this venture was going to make her & everyone involve an absolute mint.

Tops made sure he would go to the grand opening of the Purgatory Gym event a bit early, as his family leader Tyki_Mikk would make his appearance. He had been looking forward to it for a couple of days already, not wanting to miss the Joe Adonis versus Tyki_Mikk fight for the world!

Tops had always been impressed by the muscular torso and the overall appearance of the imposing man, who usually walked around well composed. If you made eye contact with him, you always felt your knees tremble a bit, even his look seemed to be able to hold you in a headlock. And now that man was here in the ring at the Purgatory Gym, to fight Tops's boss, Tyki_Mikk.
