Bet ya life on it! Started by: Mutt on May 19, '21 07:22

Mutt can’t remember a day when he wasn’t making a bet.  The man was a degenerate gambler. He would bet on every game, fights, slot machines, hell he’d even bet on 2 people chugging a beer.  Anyway a few years back Mutt had gone through a terrible divorce.  His children left with their mom and left him and his addiction to themselves.  He would go to the Philadelphia casino nightly and throw away every dollar he had either on booze of the blackjack table.

One specific night changed mutts life all the way 180 degrees.  Living check to check blowing every dollar and selling household items to make another bet.  There was a point in time that he had no hope.  It was a muggy day, rain off and on.  Larry “The Mutt” was down $1,300 dollars, there was no going back.

Big Jim was a loan shark in south philly.  He hung out around the casino everyday looking for the next target.  Big Jim looked to charge outrageous interest rates to suckers.  People come to him everyday with some sob story about finances, wifes, children and every excuse in the book.  All he is interested in is their money. And they wont fuck him over because gambling is not only in the gambling business but also a copo for a local philly mob family.  People found floating in the lake everyday due to this loan shark.

Mutt walked over to the larger set man sitting at the bar in the casino.  It was Jim, The Capo loanshark. Mutt was in too deep he decided it was time to talk business.  He sits next to the man he had borrowed from before.
“Hey Jim, I’m down bad man, I’m trying to come back! Let me in on a loan”

Jim looked frustrated already, he looked over at the Mutt with a glare.

”What I need is a MOTHER FUCKER THAT CAN DO A DAMN JOB RIGHT!” Slamming his hands on the table.....

One thing led to another, the two men began to talk business.  The more and more they drank the more and more Big Jim seemed to be asking Mutt to handle a “Job” for him.  The agreement by the end of the discussion was that Mutt would get a loan for $2,000 and would bring back $2,500 within 2 hours. If gambling failed for Mutt he would have to get rid of a individual for Jim’s crew.  And if that failed well the Mutt becomes the target.

Mutt took the cash and walked over to the blackjack table.  He was not confident in his ability to double the money in the long game so he made large bets, so large that he placed it all down at once.  To his surprise he stayed at 20.  Dealer flipped 16 hit and busted with 26.  Paid mutt out &4,000.  Mutt looked at the cash, he had to keep it.  The thought of giving more than half back to Big Jim never crossed his mind. Mutt was a whole different kind of crazy.

Over the next few hours Mutt was nowhere to be found in the casino. Jim automatically thought to put the hit out on him.  Just before he called the hit to his RH Mutt came through the front door.  He walked straight up to Jim and handed him a mans wedding ring.
“What The Fuck Is This? Where’s My Money!”

”I handled your business!”

Mutt walked slowly back to the blackjack table to continue his night.
