The Artisan of New York
New York Times

Recently inside the streets of New York eyebrows have been raised, a young artist guises under the alias: F L O Y D. The young, innovative, culture provokator has added a new artistic flare to a stagnant and bland New York art society. Critics are astounded by his mastery of his craft, hand made suits being a specialty, no material is too fine for this man. Around the world people are flying into New York to witness his awe inspiring works, F L O Y D has opened a show for a week working with the world's finest artists, designers and models. Little is known about the show, adding the mystery that is F L O Y D. The show opens tonight on the 19th of January, the cities revered and elitist are all expected to show up to the one week Art show.

The small, vague and over hyped (and clearly bribed and bias) news article was printed and paraded down the streets (the largest produce of newspapers the "New York Times" has ever achieved). The art show is being held in the center of New York's Central Park inside an array of large white silk tents, maintenance crews are around 24/7 to ensure upkeep of the silk tents and mostly the gold pegs used to hold the tent down. Security wasn't, it was as if this F L O Y D had his own private army at his disposal. The homeless were provided with soup daily to compensate for the noise and disruption the Art Show would create.

If you wanted entrance to the show, three queues are visible to the edge of New York for the general upper class populace, a red carpet was provided for those upper upper class citizens at a higher cost for a front row seat to the runway.

Ticket Prices

Standing: $0 , 250
Seated: $0 , 400

Front Row: $1 , 000

You decide to buy into the hype and buy a seated ticket, waiting in queue for twenty five minutes (give or take) you are finally granted entrance into the first of three large white silk tents. Inside was a cafe stand, serving: coffees, teas, fine wine & port, mineral water and varied baked goods. Other than the cafe there was an array of plants cleverly set up to create a "pleasant assault of your naval", every five square meters brought a new scent, the tent of "erotica" was interesting to say the least.

Inside the next tent along, the tent was a longer than the other two. Twisted walls and curves almost created a seamless environment, never ending. Paintings and sculptures line the walls with the wealthy creating generic vague comments upon each before bidding for something especially "pretty".

The third tent is the main event. F L O Y D's main craft, suits. A large runway was set down the middle, fires lighting at the mouth of the runway as each model passed through wearing something extravagant.

You managed to eye a few notable suits during your time in the show:

Example Suit 1
Example Suit 2
Example Suit 3
Example Suit 4
Example Suit 5
Example Suit 6

A stream of models comes and goes and Floyd stands to make a speech, "I am the best to seek for your suits, that is all" and walked away leaving the audience left to wonder.
