Enter the Gladiators: Tournament Announcement | Started by: Caesar on May 19, '13 19:37 |
A white thoroughbred stallion and its rider stride down Main Street. Caesar leaps off of his horse and walks into a nearby alley dragging an empty crate. He climbs onto of the crate and invites those that are nearby to hear him speak.
“Greetings friends, I am called Caesar of the proud house Julii. I have decided to enter public life would take this opportunity to announce a generous and entertaining venture I intent to sponsor.” My friends, I wish to host a gladiatorial tournament. Now of course, to make this venture worthwhile, I’d require two groups of people: Gladiators (duelist) and spectators to enjoy and gamble over the outcome of each match."
Once I have an idea of the volume of participation, we’ll public announce the first Round, matches and further details. Best Regards, Caesar |

This seems like a very interesting idea. I quite enjoy it to be honest. As for the second group you mention, the spectators, will you be running some odds or will the betting be left up to the masses? I'm looking forward to seeing how this pans out. |

I love the idea, sir Caesar. I'm an avid gambler and I'd love to be a spectator/gambler. No dueling for this girl, sorry! I'm quite looking forward to this event. |

Great idea Caesar! I definitely won't be one of the duelists, but I might throw in some money for fun. Looking forward to it. |

I don't quite understand how that will work. Who will be shooting first? Or is it decided by a coin flip?
I believe the idea is quite unprofessional. Although it would be very fun to watch if any trigger happy people are willing to risk life and limb for a single credit and the entertainment of others. |

This is the most stupid thing ive heard in a while, however its so insane i absolutely love the idea! Im sure there are enough people out there willing to risk everything for 25 credits, if your going to retire, why not do this instead? Excellent! I wont be participating myself but i hope to attend every gladiatorial battle! |

I doubt you will find a single pair, let alone enough 'gladiators' for several rounds. The people on these shores are trying to build their strength up, not participate in killing games where the total prize is less than some of us earn in a week. Don't get me wrong, I like the idea, but at this point in time, and with such a small prize, I just don't think it is viable. |

The prize on offer is nowhere near enough. Someone suggested this is an alternative to retiring? Not for me. If I choose to leave this life, which I feel I might very soon, it'll be at the hands on my own family. Anyone that wishes to give people outside their family a free shot at them for the sake of 1 credit really needs to think long and hard about what their family means to them. |

haha your basicly setting us up for death. for yall own enjoyment to watch us kill or be killed. i dought u will find people to fight each other cause they put work in there accounts and to take a chance of dieing for 1 credit i dont think so. but who knows sonme may come and join and be part of this. I like the idea but the prize is not worth dieing over |

Union_Thug walks in and heads to the ticket booth to get a pair of front row seats.
Good idea and should be a great show. |

The best positive ending is $5,000,000 worth of credits on today's market? I can earn that at the casino in one day. This is insanity but I guess there are some people on these shores who would risk dying for nothing. |

I think many of you are missing the point behind this though. Gladiators don't fight for money. Gladiators fight for glory, and I know there are plenty of glory seekers out there. It may seem like a pointless waste to you, but it doesn't require much effort to wake up and do a little bit of training in order to boost your chances of winning. I seem to remember just a little while ago watching some people duel for fun. How is this any different besides its organized and you can walk away with some sort of prize. Not to mention I'm sure any of the gladiators would be able to place bets on other fights in order to make up for what you guys consider 'a waste.' |

If there was a rule concerning how many bodyguards one man would be allowed to have in the ring with them then maybe a lot more contestants would be interested in this. You could have an IWP wiseguy against the rest and that wouldn't be a fair fight. |

I love this idea. It will catch people eyes and some may not want to enter and some may say the prize isn't enough. As said before set a limit on BGs a person can have if any at all and i am sure some people will want to join up. My self i am not a gambler or a duelist but i will be watching and rooting for all contestants. |
