Never hit on 17. | Started by: WideAwake on May 29, '13 22:21 |
WideAwake arrives in her limousine from Shocker's Palace stumbling and exhausted. Her pockets full from today's bets. "Gambling? It's only a gamble if there is a chance you can lose!" she thinks to herself. She looks out into the streets and sees a crowd of people stopping and staring as in her insomniac state. I must say that I decided to take a hiatus from the coffee shops and from the streets for the most part to work on myself. You see, that's how this works. If we want to be of service to others... we must build ourselves up. Get stable, arrange income, start business and form a way of life that is suitable for us, our crews, our districts and our cities. I cannot believe people are still tearing up over this war and damning the powers that be for every single decision made. This makes no sense. If you put 10% of your energy into establishing yourself then you would be a Goomba with 10 units of narcotics on you babbling about what those that put the work in are doing. No matter what.. whoever has the power is going to be in the scope of those coveting it. Give respect. Earn respect. Know how to twirl a pistol. |

A good point well made. I think in the most people are concentrating on themselves. From my perspective, I want to build myself up to be of use to all people, from the new faces off the boat, to the old guard who's bloodlines have graced these parts for years. I think people have a right to voice their opinions on the war however I have to agree it wears a bit thin. I am sure that before long things around here will be stable, and I hope, different to the situation we had before. |

True words WideAwake. To much focus on others is never profitable or beneficial. A shaking fist is only as powerful as the one who is shaking it. A lower prestiged mafioso is not going to have their words as clearly heard as a crewleader, this much is common knowledge. And grudges too, can condemn us to be caught up in our small issues and problems and personal thoughts when there is a business out there to run, and it does not run on its own.
As Jack_Carter encouragingly stated, before long around here things should become more stable and quieten down, but until then we need more people to understand what you have said here:
