So, I was thinking about going to Las Vegas in March (this is not set in stone, this is just me picking a random month, please if your interested, let me know when would be best for you.) and I kinda wanted to see about doing an informal MR poker tourny with dinner and drinks afterwards.. My thought was to rent a room for myself and a room mate or two, and see how many MR people we can get to come down and party in Vegas, either at the poker tables or just running down the strip shopping.

I plan to do a 3 day, 2 night affair, dinner at the end of day one and two, poker tourny day two, and lunch day three, we can open the hotel rooms and hang out there, if everyone chips 10 bucks towards booze we can get a nice "bar" going, or we can find a bar and party there...

Hell, if we get enough people interested, maybe even rent a back room for the tournament and "after party"

Any input? I've talked to about 10 people who liked this idea so far, would be nice to pull it together and get a west coast meet going.

ah, that might be a problem, lol, idk how legal or illegal giving you booze would be. :P

quick math for y'all: I'll need at least 6 before I attempt to get a hotel group rate, I need 15 to pull off a decent torny, otherwise I'll look into a show or something else to do day two.

Here's my plans so far:

Hotels: If I  can get 6 people, myself included, to agree on dates, I'll start calling around and see about getting a decent rate, I'll post the hotel name and the group name so any one can call in reservations and get themselves a room. YOU WILL BE PAYING FOR YOUR ROOM AND FOOD. So if you want to find a room mate, feel free [a thread will be posted so people can ask for room mates or look for a room]. Group rate will end before the event, so you'll want to get your reservation in early. I'll be taking these numbers to make reservations for the restaurants for dinner.

Poker: If you want in on the poker game, I'll be asking for a buy in, I'm not sure what this will be as of yet, but it will be repaid if we don't get at least 10 people buying in before hand.. This will reserve your spot at the tables. You can buy in at the tables, but if you know your gonna want to go, buy in early or the game might be canceled..

Food: We will likely be asking for a ten 10 $ chip in for bottles of alcohol, chips, dips, and soda, this way everyone can come back to the rooms and drink. We'll be keeping a few rooms open for hanging out in, Open party style, so you can go to a show and rejoin the party, or never leave. Dinner will be a group affair, but everyone will be buying for themselves, so you don't HAVE to eat with everyone else unless you want to.

I'll have to discuss it over the holidays. Its a possibility, and I am interested in going. Only able to participate if event scheduled between, March 15 – 23. I guess count me in tentatively just to see how many people are up for it! 

Hey I'm down if alcohol is given to me. Because I'll be smoking regardless and Poker is of course awesome.

hey my friends parents went their for their anniversary and they were telling me how expensive drinks are, its about 10 for a beer, but they found a tour bus for 60 a head with a all you can drink bar on it so they took that almost everyday to get loaded, main point is LV aint cheap so you might want to check out that bus.

While lv aint cheep, there are little things you can do to avoid spending a ton, casinos have free drinks on the floor, plus if your buying the stuff to mix drinks itll be cheeper. Vegas wants you gambling and spending money.. if you go off the strip though, there are cheeper options.

From a UK perspective (well, my own really) setting it in March doesn't really give a lot of time to pay for it, considering the flights really won't be cheap to LV.

I'd just like to inform everyone that last I heard when MK died, non of her relatives returned to these shores. Not sure if this is true, but consider that me and her were friends. As well as her not responding to her other friends or this post, I would have to guess that this is true.

Fed, shadows embrace MK's soul, but her work continues, we're still trying to get things rolling.
