A New Challenger Approaches...

Straight out of Three Kings Tattoo Parlour Yobssarg raised his right arm to show a fresh black and grey tattoo showing the words Staten Island - Shoryuken Syndicate. He then lowered his right arm and placed it on the podium where everyone was talking about how they would like to be the next best thing in Staten Island….

First of all, I’m going to start off with this recent double-cross back-stabbing topic that has been brought to light by the population. New York has had it’s troubles recently and this has nothing to do with the city of New York, this has to do with people and people alone…

This city has been asleep for far too long and it needs to be re-awakened with people who actually want to be there to benefit the city rather than achieve their own goals. While achieving goals is always going to be a priority, achieving them for the right reasons and for the right things is what is necessary.

New York: The city that never sleeps? The city that has been sleeping for far too long!

  • My goals and ambitions for Staten Island:

I want to achieve some sort of unity, not only for Staten Island, but for New York as a whole. I will not lie and tell everyone I’m not here to help myself, because of course I’m here to help myself but if given the chance I’ll be there to help others as well. I will not sit around and watch, I will get my hands dirty, I will build and build and awaken the dragon that keeps the city alive and pumping.

New York is not some old dump that people should be ashamed to call their home, it’s a wonderful city with wealth and plenty to offer, it should be nurtured and seized and all hands should be on deck.

  • My reason?

The reason I want to do this is because I believe I have something to offer that nobody else has and that’s a fresh view on things, a mind that’s willing to expand. I have never done this before but I know just how I want to do it. There are still things I must learn, but isn’t that the same for everyone? For every leader? Knowledge like that doesn’t just grow on tree’s it grows inside yourself if your willing to hold on to it and share it with others.

I have told that if I do this I will be considered “New Blood”  and that maybe I should think about taking up a right hand man or a left hand man position and those things can be achieved through hard work and determination but I’m here to be a leader, to lead, to look for things in people that nobody else can see, to get the best out of people and that’s what I can do…

  • A Reply:

I recently listened to Jenny Sparks speaking on a soap box in The Suburbs Chicago and what she asked was “What Makes Someone Good Enough For Auth?” and I listened and thought to myself  about it. Well what I would say is… As long as a leader can see it in you to let you take that chance then that should be good enough. Although everyone can make errors in judgement or do so without caring about their decision. So I will also add what I have already said before… I think you need to be able to come up with new fresh idea’s and follow through on those idea’s instead of just leaving them sitting there gathering dust. Thinking outside the box can always have it’s benefits or difficulties but the main thing is trying to achieve something new and making it happen.

  • My Back Story:

I live life with no regrets, I did come from New York, I watched in horror as everyone I knew well started to fall around each corner I took, I waited in watch as I thought someone would be coming to shove a pistol up against my head, but it didn’t happen, I walked up a blood lined street looking into frightened civilian eyes, watching them shiver from the horror’s of what had happened. A hand reached out to me, told me to travel back with them to Chicago, where I could stay and earn my place into another family. I did this without vengeance because in my eyes there was no wrong done, business was conducted badly but friends did die around me and that hurt a lot but the wrong turn that leadership made, made that happen and their memory lives on through me, a survivor and I won’t forget the help that they had shown me at the start of my life in ’This thing of ours…’.

Now I’m originally from New York but I also have Chicago in my veins, so I think that would help me if I was entrusted to become a leader in Staten Island. There are still many people I have yet to meet but in good time I will…

  • Your Votes:

First off, I will not buy your votes. I see that people have offered some kind of reward for your help and the only reward I can offer is a genuine promise that I will do all in my power to help New York City back into the proper direction. The direction that will have the mafia influence, the money will once again climb back into our pockets.

If you would like to see a fresh faced leader stand in Staten Island then give me your vote, if you wouldn’t then don’t I’m here to do this if you guys want me too, not if you don’t.

Bodie notices Yobssarg handing out leaflets on the corner and he walks up to grab one.

Very detailed Yobssarg, I like you points and that you survived the death and destruction in New York and want to move back to help it re-build.

My only concern is that Cantillon has got you hooked on his sweet sweet carrots and you might experience some withdrawal if you move away.

I think you would make an excellent addition anywhere you went, Yobssarg. I know by the way you act in our family bar's and casinos that the way you handle yourself is one to be admired. I once seen you talk your way out of sleeping with some shmucks wife, you actually had him believing it was for the best. You work well in the deep end my friend, I just hope you are given the chance to prove that to everyone else.

My vote will be with Yobssarg.

In my opinion, the best written of the threads for this comp, by far. You address each and every question I have when deciding on who to vote for.

If this were actually based on what people wrote, and not just a giant popularity contest, you'd run away with it.

Unfortunately that isn't the case. Hopefully, however, enough people will take the time to read it and make their judgement based on that, and not who your daddy was.

You have my vote, Yobssarg.

I couldn't agree more with Goku here honestly.

You have the most well said and detailed out speech but it is indeed a popularity contest it would seem.

You've got my vote Yobssarg.

Don't get me started on those carrots Bodie... Rubbing his tummy

Yobssarg, I'm very proud of what you have accomplished so far and I always knew you had it in you.

If given the chance you will do a great job and you have the Suburbs backing you up... So go get em tiger!

Forward, Down, Down Forward, Punch...Love it.

Absolutely agree. And this is a clear example of the mockery made of this "competition." How a 50 odd day old 30 unit Capo with a quite frankly poor speech has more votes then you is beyond me. I've only cast one vote so far and it's been for you Yobssarg, I wish you all the best and hope people base their choices off what's best for Staten Island and not just their friends.
