The last rays of the sun were setting when two cars arrive.
The engines are turned off and six men, all of them wearing black custom-made suits, get out of the car.
There are already two men standing watch outside the building.

- He in there?
- yes, but Bobby and two Greek fellas are in there as well.

The group walk towards the wooden building.

- Yo Bobby, we're here for Jesse, we are coming in.
- Don't try it.
- No one wants to hurt you Bobby.
- If you are coming for Jesse it won't be me getting hurt.

A shot rings out.
Jesse flinches and looks at Bobby.
Another shot rings out... bringing Bobby to his decision.
The front door slams open.
Bobby comes out first, with a cut down shotgun braced under his right arm, pointed at the men standing outside.
He then drags out Jesse, with his hands tied.
Followed by the two Greeks, flanking Jesse on each side.

- He will be hanged by ME before we leave Detroit.
- Why not here and now? Give him to us. We take care of him right here.
- No you're not sanctioned to touch him, I've been waited so long for this moment, so get into your cars and go back home to your families. Don't follow us. Said Bobby as the four of them drove off.

- This isn't right. I was supposed to meet my sister. Jesse said sobbing.
- What would you have told her if you could meet her now?
- Raise my boy good. Keep him fed.

They walk deeper into the forest. Bobby indicates him to the stool.

- Get up
- Tell him his dad loved him.

Bobby tosses the free end of the hanging rope over the tree branch, ties the rope to another tree and puts the snare around Jesse's neck.

- I'm sorry for what I done. I ask God's forgiveness.

Jesse clenches his eyes closed. Bobby kicks the stool out from under him.
The rope goes taut, Jesse jerks and pees himself as he strangles while Bobby witnesses the agony .

Lying on his back, Bobby tries to outlast a painful headache.

- How's your headache? Konstantinos asks him
- worse.
- You want a drink?
- No, I'm good.
- Are you sure? 'Cause we could be stuck here a fucking while.
- Maybe later.
- Ok, don't say I didn't offer you.

Few minutes later Bobby sits up in the couch.

- Pour me a goddamn drink, this headache is killing me.

As Konstantinos pours the drink...

- So Bobby, are these rumors true that you're descendant of Primus?

They are disrupted when a gunshot is heard from the next room.
Bobby stays low and goes for the door. Like Bobby, Konstantinos also hurries in the direction of the door.
When they enter the neighboring room, they see a mortally wounded man sitting against the wall, shot through the eye.
They also notice a half naked woman sitting on the couch, sobbing, with a gun in her hand and a bruised face
.

- I told that son of a bitch not to slap me. I told him.

Bobby goes through the dead man's pockets, before grabbing him around the ankles;

- Let's get this poor son of a bitch out of here before the cops show up.

- It's a new day. Bobby said to himself on his way to the hotel.
- A new day and more ass holes to deal with who think they can pull a trigger and...

Bobby was abrupted by a loud shout...

From nowhere a naked woman appeared.
From the look of her, she looked like a prostitute, benumbed by some kind of a drug, in an almost trance-like state running around in the street.
Shortly after a man came running out to the streets, carrying a blanket which he put around her.

The clerk, who seems to recognize him, approaches him to greet him;

- We'd heard rumours you might be coming back home, but you can't believe every rumour nowadays.
- And yet here I am.

Bobby smiles at the clerk.

- Here in business? Or something else?
- Well, for starters I'm here to get a room. You've got any?
- Yes sir, I'll arrange that by tomorrow but today I can't arrange it... Unless you kill a guest

There is a single knock on his door... "Excuse me sir"

- yes?"
- Sorry to bother you sir, but there is a man from New York downstairs, asking about you
- Ok, did,he ordered anything?

- Yes,
- Did he down it, or is he sippin' at it?
He's sippin' sir.
Go to the café across the street and ask the man behind the counter I asked for him. Make sure the dude sees you leave.
What should I tell him?
Tell him to get his ass over here.
Yes, sir.

Bobby sits next to the man, nodding at bartender.

- I'm having what he's having, he then face the man... Long way from New York buddy, heard that you've been busy while up here with us in Chicago?
- Lost my stake in a sour business deal', on my way home after one last piece of pussy.
None of that's anything to me, you knew that you should have called before entering my city
- Sorry Bobby

*Bobby sighs*

- And you don't go around shoot nobody up here 'cause that's bad for my business and it's bad for city reputation.
- Yes I know, calm down now, what's done is done

- Don't you fucking tell me what to do.

Bobby grabs the man by the throat and throws him  against the wall, and he collapses to the floor. He then puts his foot against his throat so that he can't breathe.
His eyes glaze as he is slowly suffocating. Bobby slacks his hold, as the man gasps after air.

- Have I made myself perfectly clear about this matter now?
- Yes, I'll be good.
Alright, good boy. Now go fuck your pussy and then be gone before this day ends.

It's early morning when two men are tromping through the grounds of a seemingly endless forest.
Both of them wearing suits.
The second man behind the first man holds a .22 caliber gun, fitted with a silencer.

It starts to rain.
- How much farther?
- Not much.
- Hey, do you mind if I talk a little? I feel like, I don't know, talking I guess.
- Sure.
- Funny, I've never been a talker. My boss was always getting on me about that. 'Say what you feel, tell me what's bothering you, you've got to talk to me.' I never would though. Not really.
- Why not?
- I don't know. Part of me wanted to but part of me always said, 'What is he going to be able to do?' I don't know. Maybe I didn't trust him.

He picks up a handful of mud and begins shaping it like a snowball... and continues;

- You know my boss.. I loved him but you know what? I crossed him, so many times. I don't even know why. It wasn't because he treated me bad, no sir, he was a great leader. But still I betrayed his trust.
I knew he stopped trusting me.
If he was here right now I'd think that I would tell him that I was sorry.

He throws the mud ball at the trees but they are too far;

-I think I've heard of you, you're Primus aren't you?
- It's possible.
- I know this may seem like a strange question, but can I ask you how much the contract was for?
- This one is on the house, you know, betraying Jake.
- Shit... oh well. The man laughs. I knew this day was coming
Report Post Tip
- Of course you did, everyone who plays the game knows the rules.
- That's exactly what I told myself.
-I always wondered what I'd be thinking at this exact moment. I always thought that I would be thinking about my loved ones, but I can't.
- What are you thinking about?
- I'm thinking about cocaine. Isn't that funny? It was ten years ago since last time. I'm thinking how much I'd love a few lines.

He' starts 'laughing' and Bobby laughs with him.
The man suddenly stops laughing.

- Can I ask you something?
- Go ahead.
- What did the other guys do at this point?

He turns his head and looks at Bobby.

- Everyone handles it differently. Some are ready, some are not.
- Do they get down on their knees, crying and begging that you spare them?
- Some.
- In the back of my head, I could see myself on my knees, crying like a bitch... but now, I feel it's okay.

Bobby takes a long look at him...

- You should have stopped when you where ahead.
- Na, I always pictured that I would end in some land fill, under someone else's fucking garbage. But this is nice... my god it was such a long time since I heard birds songs.

With his face hidden from Bobby he starts to cry.
Bobby raises his gun waiting for the bird song to stop.
When the song ends, a silenced shot is fired, placed in the back of the man's head.
Bobby breathes in deep and lets the air out slowly, standing alone in the middle of nowhere.

Snow is falling, Bobby finishes his bourbon, slightly drunk, he sways forward until his forehead rests against the window.

... a knock at the door.
He opens the door, a woman is standing outside.

- Hi. Did you call?
- Yes. Please come in.

She enters and he takes her coat.

- Goodness, it's so dark.
- I prefer it like this.
- Are you shy?

Bobby smiles.

- I prefer it, that's all.

She moves closer to him...

- It's okay honey
- Would you like a drink?
- I'd love one.

She walks towards the windows

- it's so beautiful.

She walks back to the bar.

- So tell me darling, what's the reason you called me here?
- I've been thinking about my life, about things I have done..

He hands her the drink and continues...

- I know that everything has a price. I want you to understand this.
I called here tonight because I just want to ask you some questions.

Uncomfortable, she takes a sip of her drink.

- Sure...
- Do you ever regret things you've done?

Report Post Tip
- Sure I do, not only me, everyone regrets at least one thing they've done.
- But when you do ignore the voices in your head and do it, do you think about it afterwards?
- yeah, it happens.

Bobby nods

- If you could start over, would you do it? Have you ever thought about it?
- All the time.
- And what if you never could?

She smiles.

- C'est la vie.
- Do you believe that?
- Are you asking me if I would accept my fate?

Bobby nods.

- Well, I have to and I'd make the best out of my situation.
- Is that what you wanted to hear?

 She finishes her drink.

- Yes, Thank you.
- Anytime darling.
