Philly becomes friendly. Started by: JimmyTheLionHeart on Jan 04, '09 20:33
Jimmy steps out into the streets. He is followed by his second in command and a few bodyguards

Ladies and Gentleman of our great community. I come to you today to let you know of a change with Philly.

Philly will now be a PickPocket friendly city. That's right folks. If your on my turf then you have the chance of someone lifting your pocket. It does not matter what family you are from. If you come to my city then you accept its rules.

Should you decide to visit my fair city, but not wish to have your pockets looted, then please use one of our fine banking establishments.

To the pickpockets out there. Come in large numbers.

Thank you all for your time.

I'm liking what you're doing here Jimmy. It's been a while since I've seen something like this on our streets.

Sounds like a jolly good time...

I like this. Can't wait to see how it works.

So, the rumours are true? Pick pocketing viewed as an art and not an attack?

I have to say, I like it Jimmy. An innovative move my good man. I have snatched more than my fair share of purses as a young lad, but nothing gets the buzz that putting one over on 'a friend of ours'. Little old ladies aren't always what you would describe as street smart, but when you can slip a few hundred dollers from a member of this thing of ours it's an entirely different feeling.

Now, don't get me wrong. I have the utmost respect for a member of any of the families of the seven cities. I'd never dream of taking more than a few thousand dollers. Something that I know they can afford. It's just something that provides a little fun and allows us to prove our still to one another. Many nights I sat in a speek easy joking about the fun we'd had that day in slipping a few dollers from a friend or family members bulging pockets.

I hope that this change in the acceptance of pick pocketing is welcomed by the masses, but I have some doubts. Personally, I'm all for it and look forward to seeing if anyone has the skill or ability to relieve me of some of my earnings on my visit to Philadelphia.

Best of luck to this venture, sir. As far as I know it's an original and creative idea, which is always a benefit to this thing of ours.

As someone who has just flown to Philly with money gushing from my pockets, I'd like to point out I have thus far never failed to stop a pickpocket attempt.

Beyond that, I'm glad to hear this. I've always rolled my eyes at complaints that someone had taken money out of another's overflowing pockets, and made my LHM take care of it when possible. I have far better things to do than work through petty moaning over $5000 or less. Hopefully this will lesson the workload on that front.

ooooo this sounds fun lets just hope no one gets trigger happy :) ill be there shortly :)

Just to clarify before I get myself in a right old pickle; if I pickpocket someone in your city, regardless of who, I have the protection and backing of yourself and your Famiglia?

Although it may come across as such, I'm honestly not trying to be negative - I've said for a while that we all seem to fall into the trap of tradition and it's refreshing to see someone break the mould a little.

Wow. I like this a lot.

My hat off to you, Don Jimmy.

KingOfOnePercent as long as the pick pocketing has taken place in Philly, then yes I will protect those who have followed the rules while within my city.

Those who do not want to be pick pocketed have two choices at this point. They can either make sure to deposit there money in there city or federal bank, which of course Philly has a couple of, or they may avoid my city altogether they have 2 options open to them.

So far this idea seems to have had success with many mafioso being happy to have the chance to lift some wallets. They also like the adrenaline of not knowing if there own will be lifted.

As Guardian walks by, he hears JimmyTheLionHeart finishing his speech

Guardian frantically zips his pockets up and makes his BodyGuards aware, people are on the prowl for money

I can't wait to see how these thieves fair against myself. I look forward to my next visit to Philly.

When you go through someone's pockets you are looking for money? *Maris shakes head* That explains the looks I have been getting. *Walks off not nearly excited about to Philly as before*

This sounds like fun, I'll be looking farward to my next visit to Philly.

Haha just started participating in this, much fun. Great idea Don Jimmy

Smiles at Jimmy.

I think this is a superb idea. PickPocketing is harmless to your physical health, so why not? Just bank your cash when traveling through the warrior-esk streets of Philly!
