End of the Road. Started by: Jay on Sep 15, '14 02:21

You stumble into the abandoned warehouse where you have been following the tale of Jay, the Insane for quite some time. Unfortunately, The place looks trashed and there is blood everywhere. Bodies are scattered along your path to the office. In your mind, you pray that the old man is safe from harm. As you open the door, it is as if nothing had ever happened. The room is spotless, and the chair behind the desk is seated by the old gentlemen smiling at you.

"You seem troubled old friend. What's the matter?"

He smiles at you, as if that was to be some sort of comfort. You've seen dead bodies before, it comes with the territory. How could he expect you to forget the massacre that lay just beyond those doors?

"Please sir, have a seat. We have much to discuss today."

You do as you are instructed, sitting down across from him with an uneasy look on your face. He frowns a bit, but then smirks as he opens his old book once more. Your nerves begin to be replaced with excitement as you await the next installment of this chilling tale.

"Now, where I last left you, Jay was on his way to face off with his brother in Chicago. Jay had killed off a major Godfather in New York and with the help of another family, he was able to use the deceased mobster's ticket to board the flight straight to Johnny. Now when he arrived, all he could think about was Sophia. Where she could be, what Johnny could be doing to her. It may be his brother's child, but it was HIS daughter. No matter what. He climbed into the limo that was meant for Johnny's associate, acting as if he were the former Godfather. The simple driver fell for the trick and drove him straight to Johnny's manor. The home was huge, a lot bigger than Jay expected his brother to obtain in such a short amount of time, but then again, his brother had spent years accumulating wealth from a life of crime."

The man slides a picture of the estate over to you. As you examine it, you gasp with amusement. The home was huge. The fields around it seemed to be big enough to contain neighborhoods. You look back at the man who continues with his smile. He then looks back down into his book.

"As they pulled through the gates, Jay thanked the driver for his cooperation. He told him that his assistance had saved his life. He then bashed the kid's head into the windshield, knocking him out. Jay snuck out of the limo and into the basement of the house. Meanwhile, Johnny was growing impatient. Eight times he attempted to reach his comrade and eight times he was sent to voicemail. He was debating whether it wasn't a good idea coming here when the screams starting from down the hall. Johnny may have been a selfish, egotistical, money chasing douche, but he was fairly intelligent. He ordered two of his men to take Sophia out back and the rest to deal with his brother. It wasn't long before Jay fought his way through the house and to Johnny's office. Johnny wasn't there, but he did leave a set of binoculars and a note, which read:

Dearest brother,

You have only but two options in this case. You can either, A) Leave now and allow my family to prosper or B)... Well just look through the binoculars to see what outcome B will be.

                                                                                                   -Johnny Ace

Upon using the binoculars out of the window, Jay could see them dragging sophia into a van with guns pointed at her. He knew immediately that he wouldn't risk killing his own daughter, so he decided he would follow that van from a distance. He snuck down to the garage and stole one of the many cars his brother had stockpiled in there. And, believe it or not, they ended up right here, in this very warehouse."

You look at him with amusement but then your face goes from excitement, to confusion, to fear. There were dead bodies outside of this door, which could have been Johnny ace's men. Those bodies seemed fresh. The old man smiles once again. You look away, searching for an excuse to leave, but before you could voice your departure, you hear the sound of a loud bang, followed by a sharp pain in your chest. You collapse out of your chair clutching your chest. The old man rises, stalking you. Smoking pistol stay in the grasp of his hand. He gives you one last smile before reaching under his chin and removing his face.

There was a reason why Jay was able to follow his brother and trick the driver. Don't you think Johnny would have all of his men knowing who Jay was? So to counter this, the Godfather of the family he aided concocted a disguise for him. Something that his brother would never expect. For weeks he stayed in this disguise until it was time to kill the Godfather, and steal his ticket. When he arrived at the estate, he wanted his brother to think that he was there, but never be able to find him. So when they stole sophia and headed to this Warehouse, Jay could walk right in undetected and rescue his daughter. But Jay never does anything that easily, he always has a craving for blood."

After fully removing the face, the old man appears to be none other than the protagonist of this story: Jay the Insane. You lie in your own blood, dazed and confused at what's happening. You think to yourself, where is Johnny and Sophia then? And why did he lead you on for the past week? You notice the blood seeping under the door of the closet in the corner, and Jay offers a sinister smile.

"Johnny went out like a wuss. Begging for his life as if he felt like he didn't deserve what was coming to him. Why he's in the closet you might ask?"

Just as he says this, a little girl comes in from the far door of the room, holding onto Jay. You realize that it's the little girl, sophia from the story. She asks him about you and he simply smiles at her.

"This is the last of your father's men Sophie. Once he's gone we shall never have to run from anything again. You won't ever have to be scared anymore."

She hugs him tighter and nods. Your heart races as you know this is the end of the road for you. Just before he pulls the trigger, he gives you one last comment:

"Thanks for listening, friend. You've been a hell of an audience. But now you have become a loose end, and so now i must burn you out. Best regards in the afterlife, from yours truly, Jay the Insane."

The last sound you hear is the sound of the gun going off, and then everything goes silent...

Everything goes dark...
