I thought 'Personal reasons' usually mean that the person wants to hold the reasons to himself and doesn't want to share them with the community. (If that is the case he did indeed say it was for personal reasons, which would make my earlier post invalid.)

'Nothing personal' means that someone wasn't influenced by personal feelings/emotions, or at least I thought that was the case. 

I would have to agree with your last statement. 

But when the attacker comes out and says the exact opposite, its quite odd.
