The Jewelry Heist Started by: Locarno on Apr 01, '15 16:29

"You have GOT to be kidding me!" thought Locarno.

=============

It was just two hours earlier that Locarno had been summoned to come meet the boss in a backroom at the Premiere Cinemas.  Still eager to earn the respect of the family and hopefully become a Made Man, Locarno made sure to arrive 10 minutes early looking his best.  He had taken the time to press his finest french-cuff shirt, a blue pin-striped suit with matching vest, a white pocket square tucked neatly into the jacket, a tie with a full windsor knot, and - the pièce de résistance - his custom emerald cuff-links.  It was important to Locarno to look his best all the time, but especially when meeting with Don Capazzo.

He walked into the lobby and looked around; it seemed he was the only person here.  He wasn't sure exactly what the Don had in store, but in the past he liked getting his crew to work jobs as a group so Locarno felt he had probably arrived first.  He walked over to a comfortable bench along one of the walls and sat down where he had a view of the entrance and a clock.

A few minutes ticked by before the entry door opened and in walked a familiar face, Maeve.  She and Locarno had done a job with each other previously and he was happy to see her.  The loyalty and trust built while facing death was a strong bond and he knew that he could trust her with his life.  Walking with her was Joseph_Ligambi aka Uncle Joe.  He had just arrived back in town recently and had restarted several old rackets including a sports betting book that Locarno hoped to be a part of - another solid crew member.

He greeted them both and they made small talk until it was just a few minutes before the scheduled meeting time and in walked another trio. Sammy_Snake, Phil_Narducci, and TheGod.  This would be Locarno's first experience with Sammy and Phil, but he had heard good things about both.  TG was a brand new associate of the family and was sure to be eager to impress.

He glanced at the clock and saw it was almost time so he rounded everyone up and they headed towards the back.  Locarno knocked quietly on the Boss's office door and heard a simple "Come in." from the other room.  He turned the knob and pushed the door open and the 6 member crew walked in.  Sitting behind a desk was the Don, TonyCapazzo.

Tony looked at the group and said "I guess you're all wondering why you're here today.  Well, I've got a job for you to do for the family. A specific job. A heist. A jewelry heist. You see, there is a local Jewelry store called Sarmiento Jewelers that has - to this point - rejected our concern for them and hasn't paid for protection.  Well, I've just been informed that they have just received a large shipment of imported diamonds and I feel that losing those diamonds might spur Mr. Sarmiento into understand why we were so concerned for his business' safety.  In addition to the diamonds there are many other expensive trinkets all throughout his store and - this is very important - a large safe in the back office that I want the contents of."

It was only then that Tony cracked a smile as he continued: "Now, I know this Sarmiento and he'll see a bunch of Mafioso coming a mile away, so I need you to enter his store incognito.  Maeve, I want you dressed to the nines and looking for some diamonds, but I'm not sending you in alone.  Two of you mooks are also going to accompany her in while disguised."  It was then that he met Locarno's eye "I think three women out shopping for some diamonds should make your approach quite safe." he said with a chuckle then sat back and waited on this last bit to sink in.

Locarno's eyes grew so large he wasn't sure they were going to stay in their sockets and his jaw hung agape until he realized and snapped his mouth back closed. "Three women?" thought Locarno, "You have GOT to be kidding me!" and Tony wasn't even attempting to hide the glee he felt with the delivery and instructions for this next job.

The group exited the office and had a quick discussion in the lobby.  Locarno started them off saying "Alright, well I guess we get to get the Don some money, prove a point, AND provide some entertainment this time.  Best not to dwell on it.  We've got orders and I always follow orders.  I'm not going to ask any of you to do something I wouldn't so I'll volunteer to be a dame in disguise escorting Maeve in. We'll need one more dame, a lookout for any passerbys and then some extra muscle to help us clear the store of anything worth a penny."

"Maeve, I assume you can help dress us? We'll need wigs, and maybe a scarf and sunglasses to further obscure our appearance.  Here," he said grabbing a picture of an actress off the wall, "I wanna look like this.  If i'm going to do this, i'm going to look fabulous, dammit!"

He looked towards the others waiting for them to chime in on what roles they would take in the caper.
