Enjoying their families new surroundings many members of the Capazzo syndicate sought to establish themselves in various legitimate areas of employment around Detroit.

In reality the mafiosi that worked under Don Tony Capazzo were smart. They knew that they could get into certain areas of public works and bleed the system from the inside.

Two members that were very quick to pick up on this were Uncle Joe Ligambi and Scarfo Arcidiacono.

They had learned of upcoming elections for local union heads in two very prominent Detroit union's

Local 185 Port of Detroit dock steward which was reasonable for assigning union workers for the loading and unloading of cargo and would know everything coming and going of value from the docks. They would know the routes of trucks transporting goods that could be hijacked and unloaded to local fences in the new neighborhood hungry for goods..

The local dock steward would also be in charge of overseeing the union pension fund payments. Something easily skimmed.

This felt like Scarfo Arcidiacono's area of expertise. He could assign family members no show jobs and give them word when high dollar items were about.

The other position was for the head in the local 345 Concrete and Iron workers association.

This leadership position in the union would allow for bid rigging contracts on all public and private work protects to family connected companies and inflation on all projects that went on in the city of Detroit from government to private.

As the Union leader of local 345 one would be able to extort payoffs whenever a union group got a construction job or in effect could get workers to slow or halt construction if contractors or developers didn't make the right payoffs or meet union dues.

Uncle Joe was a natural racketeer and when he learned of this position he instantly saw the potential for himself and the family. He could easily handle multi million dollar projects. He may have been from the old country but Uncle Joe was smart.

All Scarfo and Uncle Joe had to do was send some of their associates down to the local union voting drives and have them sway a few voters in the right direction. Something easily done by members of the Capazzo Syndicate.

Report Post Tip

Shooting one of TylerDurden's associates at point blank range, Ocknotyn stares into its eyes as the life leaves its body. He walks away casually, attempting to wipe the gun shot residue off of his newly tailored suit. As he walks, he sees a flyer advertising a vote about to happen to elect or re-elect the union head of the 345 Concrete and Iron Workers Association.

Immediately, Ocknotyn recognizes one of the candidates as an important partner of TonyCopazzo's. 'The other guy' did not seem like the right individual for this position, in Ocknotyn's opinion.

After much contemplation, Ocknotyn decided that it would be an overall good thing if this 'other guy' were to drop out of the race altogether. He pays this guy a visit.

Standing with a group of mercenary hookers in the soon-to-be iron worker's office, Ocknotyn threatens the candidate's life, offering him a once in a lifetime opportunity.

"If you back out of this election, these rather dangerous women and I won't set your house on fire with you in it. The 345 Concrete and Iron Workers Association is now run by The Copazzo Crime Syndicate and its allies. You have 24 hours to correct this mistake," Ocknotyn says to the soft-handed nobody who has pissed his pants.

Taking the wet trousers as a sign of compliance, Ocknotyn exits the office building and travels to Las Vegas where place a large wager on a boxing match that he knows will end in the 4th round by knockout...........
