Witchy arrived at the town hall and mounted the steps; she had an announcement to make, a new venture she was embarking on. Nervously she scanned the street below her, watching all the new faces running around finding their feet, and plying their trade in this brave new world. Knowing that this venture had been tested and proved successful by her great grandmother in another world, she felt the time was now right to bring it to this one. She had seen as had many others the many boat loads of immigrants arriving on these shores, and had seen as had many others the surge in business that the funeral directors of the nation were now experiencing. "Ladies and Gentlemen a moment of your time if you will" Witchy watched as the population below her carried on running in and out of the local 7-11s barely paying attention. With that, she put her fingers to her mouth and let out the loudest whistle she could muster. As two windows broke in the speak easy, people stopped in their tracks and began to take notice. "This is a message for all the recent immigrants newly arrived to our shores. Those that have had family walk similar paths in other worlds, and those that have found this world and see it as a way to better them selves." "These streets can be hard for new immigrants to begin their lives, many, many pitfalls lay before you." "Therefore, I have started a new organisation called "Head-starts for Hoodlums". This organisation aims to help you transition in to this way of life. Run by experienced men and women who wish to help foster the future generations of this world. These men and women will wear a badge on their person indicating that they are working for this organisation. These fine upstanding members of society are here to help you. Look for the people with this on their identity cards and visit our head office in the Chicago bar district. Here in our head office, immigrants can come and speak to advisors and book in for one on one sessions." "The idea of our vision is not to hold your hand; this is after all Mafia, not kindergarten, but to guide you on the right path and point you towards becoming a valuable member of a family. To have you integrate amongst the community, instead of walking alone, and to stay alive where many before you have turned up in the Hudson wearing concrete slippers." "For us long as you need, you can question us, and we will tell you of the dangers that you face, explain where to find [all the information a new immigrant needs to prosper here, how to behave in your daily life and generally help to mentor you in this thing of ours." Witchey pauses to take a swig from her hip flask and light a cigarette. Drawing deeply from the smoke between her fingers she savours the taste and the hit before continuing. "We will not however, tell you how to rank, how to bet or give you money or anything that should be learned within a family or crew. In other words you will still learn everything by yourself with guidance." "What is the point? I hear people say." "The point is, as I have said this world can be merciless. We endeavour to try and keep you alive and safe from things that could get you killed but should this fail and it is likely it will at first, we hope to have made you feel welcome enough to have your son/daughter return to us." With that, Witchey stubs out her cigarette, and pins a notice to the nearest lamppost with directions to the head office in Chicago. At the bottom of the notice there is an application form for any established members of the community who wish to involve them selves with the new organisation. |

One thing youngsters seem to forget is that this thing of ours is not only about making money. As immigrants to this country, our people found it very hard to find jobs with legitimate employers. That is why we need to look after our own kind, and that's one of the reasons for our existence. Good luck with your venture. It's a worthwhile mission. |

Maxwell, I must say that I admire your dedication to the ideals of old. At the very least, they provide you with the ability to say you stand for something. And that, in itself, is better than most. While I, myself, may not always agree with the traditional ways, I admit openly that there is much to be learned from them. One of the first lessons I learned was the corrupt means, no matter how noble the intent, only breed more corruption. For that reason, we must keep a close eye on all aspects of our business. True, the Business was once a safe haven for our countrymen, but it seems to have taken a sharp lean toward human trafficking. That should be rectified, and this sounds like a brilliant start. |

Sadly there is a generation upon us that does not expect to have to work for their success they expect it to be handed to them. They do not understand the need to earn the respect of their peers they think they deserve it the moment they step off the boat... Many are used to other countries where communication isn't as important.. The very fact that people here are willing to help those fresh immigrants that our world depends upon greatly is a good thing and should be aided.. Instead of saying that it isn't helpful BBT why not try and help it become more helpful, why not put some effort into this life you have begun here? Oh wait.. That would mean doing more than commit crimes with the sole intent to spread blood upon our streets. Have a nice day BBT... Have a nice day. |

My first mail was from Elena,and i was amazed that someone would actually take the time to go into great detail on what it takes to survive in these streets.And yes,BBT,you need to listen to what these well respected people tell you.I am sure whatever happens to you,water will be involved. I was given a chance that i did not deserve,and i am making the most of it. Thank You |

The Bible is a nice tool written to help explain the basics, but sometimes in life a person needs to know a little more than that. I've read diaries and have heard rumors about my previous bloodline living in this world. I can't help to wonder, if some of the things were true, that an organization like this could have helped prevent some possible mistakes made by my blood family. I think highly upon and wish prosperity to this group of people trying to teach young bloods the ways of the new country. |

And you need to show some respect to your elders Mr BBT. You seem to think the world owes you a living. I'm sure you'll soon see what you've earned. Witchy, this definitely seems like a great organisation and well worthy of the time you have invested in it. I just hope you are not too disheartened at this youngling's response to your offer of help. Not all of the new faces are this disrespectful or downright rude. I am positive that if you and your merry gang persevere we will have a bright generation coming up to join us. And please don't give into temptation and take on my great grangfather's motto, "You can't please everyone all of the time, so just shoot everyone, it's easier." ;) |

A hoodlum who needs a head start heads up towards the front still chuckling over his little pun he has made. I am a hoodlum yet the only answer i am givin to plea's for help from these clearly unbelievably intelligent people was that they would get someone to help me. WTF! I need help now. I was also redirected to the "thread." I couldn't find this "thread." So please, i am a new arrival and i need monies. Send me some pls. Thanks guys and Witchyx...why are you ignoring me so? I need help trying to lose the police after i robbed this shop and she merely ignored me. Where the fuck am i meant to hide these guns? The Hoodlum who needs a headstart, wavers his guns around. leadfoot laughs hilariously at Hixxy's fantastic pun. Wow. That was great. Anyhoo. Perhaps Hixxy Witchyx was not ignoring you. Perhaps she was mystified at the foreign language in which you wrote your letters to her. I can see you have no significant speeach impediment, so it can't be the fault of an audio typist... I suggest sir that you visit the office in Chicago where you can ask those questions in person with out the strange language that your letter writer seems to like to include when they transcribe your correspondance. |

leadfoot muses that this young man would grow better under the eyes of chris than the eyes of christ Travel to chicago to the offices as you have been advised. There you can be booked into a fast track typing course to run along side your studies. Headstarts does not run from street corners my friend. It runs from an office in chicago. |
