Corktown Godfather Started by: Spring on May 21, '15 20:49

Spring woke up early that morning. She knew it was going to be a wonderful day. Today was the day that Fear would be getting Godfather. Fear wasn't entirely sure it would happen since there was a matter of a mayor to deal with. Spring had no qualms about such things. She was forever an optimist. Fear was a supporter of the mayor, after all kicking up taxes to a man should mean you somewhat support them she thought. However, Spring was not convinced. The mayor was old and it was time for the Freaks to take over Corktown in a big way.

Grabbing one of her yellow flower sundresses Spring got ready for her early morning coffee with the mayor. She had met him a few days back in a coffee shop. She was new but she was quick witted. The mayor knew her as Darla, a reporter from some small town in Texas that he had never heard of. So they had arranged for a few meetings so that he could tell her about the district and the city as he saw it. Today would be their last meeting.

Once ready she was off with a ticket in hand for a ball that she had convinced Fear to throw in honor of the mayor. Fear had not known what she was up to but he knew well enough that should the plans fall through he didn't want to know the details yet. Spring had gotten her way in the end. Besides, she thought, who doesn't love a reason to dress up? With that thought she rounded the corner and headed into the coffee shop.

Spring spotted the mayor right away in the far corner of the shop. She headed to the counter to pick up a black coffee first before joining him. She settled into the seat and opened a pen and a pad of paper that she carried for this occasion.

"Good morning Sir." Spring smiled brightly across the table.

The mayor returned the smile with a barely audible "morning" attached to it. He began where they left off about how Detroit was so much different before he became mayor. She rolled her eyes towards the paper and jotted down notes she would never need or ever use. After about a half hour she stopped him.

"Oh my I meant to give this to you!" Spring exclaimed in excitement. "There is a ball in your honor tonight. Surely you will go? Won't you? I picked up a few tickets for a couple of friends and I. I am giving this one to you for sentimental value. It's not like you will need one since you are the guest of honor. Oh say you will go! It will surely be wonderful will it not?"

She stopped long enough to glance over at him. She knew from the look on his face that he was going to make her wait a few minutes before he replied but she knew well enough he would buy into her enthusiasm and cave to go.

"Yes, well you are right. The guest of honor should be there after all."

With an agreement to see each other at the ball Spring was on her way down the street. She headed straight for the headquarters and towards Fear's office. Knocking on the door and waiting the usual "enter" to come out before she walked in.

"The guest of honor will be there. Be ready for 6. Your limo will pick you up here."

Fear nodded towards her and she left. She had so much to do before she could get herself ready to attend the ball. Her next stop was over to the Carnival to see Scott.

Spring skipped out through the Freak Show and into The Carnival area. Spotting Scottie she waved him over. Smiling politely as they passed a few workers. He knew she would want somewhere quiet to discuss their plans and at once had began heading into the office. Closing the door behind them. Spring got settled in a chair before she began.

"The mayor will be at the ball. All you have to do is get rid of him before his speech is due. You can't kill him there because it would look suspicious." Spring looked up at Scott. "Sorry, I tend to talk out loud when I am thinking. I know you do not need to be told all of this.  So I will leave you to your plans. Fear is being picked up at 6 by his limo."

"See ya then." Scott said.

Spring was out in a flash. She had to go pick up the tuxes and the dresses. Miss_Senza's dress should be ready as well. Spring went to the dry cleaners and got all of their outfits. Dashing through the city as quick as she could she got them all delivered to the right people. Then she set off home to get into her own dress. It was growing late and if she did not hurry she would be the one late.

Dashing through her room at the hotel Spring got showered and did her hair. She made ringlets with a curling iron and donned a beautiful black dress. It had a full skirt and looked stunning on her. She had saved up for an emerald necklace so that she would have some sort of jewellery to wear with it. Last item on was the black heels. And she was ready, just as the clock struck 6.

With a whirl of her dress she was off and down to meet her limo. The ride would take a few minutes. She began to fidget a little bit in anticipation. She was grateful she got to be apart of a momentous occasion. This would be one she soon would not forget.

Spring got out of the limo and walked through the doors of the venue the ball was being held in. It was a large ballroom they had rented out at the theater. It was absolutely stunning with a big chandelier at the top. She smiled as she watched the waiters and waitresses finishing the last of the trays.

Everything in the room was set just in time as the first guests began wandering through the door. Spring flashed a smile and talked small talk with a few of the men and women that were first to arrive. Once the mayor came in she smiled, waved and made her way over to him.

"Glad you could make it."

"It's an honor and such a lovely spot for it."

Spring took his arm and began to lead him around the room. She wanted to introduce him to a few people. Once she was finished she let him go and made her way to the refreshments table so that she could keep an eye on where he was.

Fear had received a phone call as he was waking up reminding him that today was the Ball for the Mayor and that he needed to show up to show his support for the new Mayor and his campaigns. He had completely forgot but he knew that he still had plenty of time to get ready and prepare his speech but he had to get cleaned up first. He got up out of his bed and took a shower and finished getting all washed up. He knew he needed to look his best which was hard given he was a freak but some said he made the look work so he would go with that. He had a long day ahead of him which started with the work he had to do which meant most of his day would be spent at his office. He got himself dressed for work and headed in for the day. He knew at some point Spring was suppose to stop by and confirm that the Ball was indeed official.

Later that day Spring stopped by his office to let him know and to hand him the suit he needed to wear. When it was finally time to leave work he took the suit home with him. He had got caught up in watching a baseball game when the phone rang and asked if he was ready to go. It was a call from Spring who was already there at the Ball. He looked at his watch and said he has to go as he hung up the phone and ran over to where he had left the suit and threw it on as fast as possible and went running outside with the tie still in his hand as it was almost Six and the limo should be there any moment.

Only a few moments later did the limo arrive so he was literally right on time as he got in still tie in hand looked completely unprepared which he truthfully was. Luckily the drive was not too long and the ride was not too uncomfortable either. It was a rather nice limousine but he was starting to get worried because he was not sure what he wanted to say when he was given the opportunity to speak on the Mayor's behalf which was after the Mayor's speech that he was suppose to give which was mostly to help his campaigns he was running.

Shortly after he had come up with a decent amount of what he was going to say the limousine took a sudden halt. The driver got out and opened Fear's door as he got out of the limousine and walked down the carpet that was laid out and into the building that was hosting the ball. As he looked around he noticed the Mayor had not yet arrived so he went into the bathroom and made sure to get his tie done so he could look more professional when the Mayor had arrived.

Time flew by as he did not even notice the Mayor had already arrived and seemed to have finished a glass of champagne already. He walked over to him and spoke with him briefly giving him his praise and his support on everything he had been doing. His speech was suppose to be coming up so he made it brief as he went and sat down at a table and waited for his speech to start so he could follow up with his own speech to let the community know where his support was at.

Cipher hears word of a grand event being planned this evening and makes time out of his hustle and bustle to attend it in his grandest suit holding his grandest puzzle box.

Cipher appears outside gossiping with the other attendee's regarding tonight's event and offers up some free stogies while they stand around and play kick the can.

Cipher then extinguishes his stogie and moves on inside to grab a seat at any free table as there is a lot of folk attending tonight.

Spring had been making her way through a few friends that she had met in her campaign. She had began her circle of the room by talking to Mr and Mrs Henry. They were such a lovely couple that lived a few doors down for the hotel. She had met them on one of her skips down the street to a nearby coffee place. They had lived in Detroit for quite some time and were getting tired of the mayor. According to them they had never seen him do anything more than stuff his face.

She had to giggle as she thought of their conversation. It did appear that her mission would be so much easier than she thought it would have been. The mayor had made her believe that he was well liked but as Spring had met people in the district she had learned otherwise.

Next she made her way over to the Goodfellows family. She got suckered into a dance with Mr Goodfellows. Spring was far too polite to decline as it would be unseemly for a young lady. So she waltzed and twirled her way away from the family at the earliest moment that she could do so.

Spring watched as Fear made his way around the room. He was doing his part without even knowing what it was he was actually doing. She watched him talking to the guests. Then she noticed Cipher walk in. She quickly grabbed a drink and headed in his direction.

"Good to see you here. You look like you could use one of these."

She handed him the drink with a smile. She was pretty good at running errands for the bosses of her family that it just seemed natural to be welcoming to family as they entered the event she had planned so carefully.

Soon she was back on her way to complete her circle. The families that came to the event were very well off and she was excited to meet them. So off Spring went. Chatting and dancing her way across the room in merriment.

Stefan was feeling rather excited this particular evening. He had just got dressed up in his tux that Spring had dropped round earlier that day. He was attending a ball this evening being held in honour of the major. He picked up a dart and threw it towards a picture of the guest of honour as he chuckled to himself. He grabbed a glass and poured himself a shot of whiskey while he prepared everything he would need for the evenings events.

Rope, hood, knife, he began reading off his checklist before he was interrupted by a phone call. It was Scottie. SPEAK! He yelled down the phone. He heard Scottie chuckle back and listened to the plan before hanging up and drinking his whiskey. He quickly gathered up his items in a bag and headed to his car. He arrived at the HQ to meet up with Scottie as they would be needing only one car this evening. He watched as Scottie loaded his own trunk with several items that looked rather interesting. Stefan transferred his own gear into the trunk and climbed in.

As they were arriving at their destination Scottie reminded him of the plan again twice. Scottie I know you are my boss and all, but please stop talking, I get the plan. I got it the first sixteen times. He laughed as he got out and headed for the entrance with his ticket. Stefan Salvatore he said to the man at the door. He walked in looked back at Scottie and watched him drive off. As he walked in he noticed there were many guests already here. Several he recognised and a few he did not. Then he locked eyes on the mayor. He thought about how much easier it would be to just slaughter him there and then but knew he must stick to the plan just to prevent his boss from suffering a heart attack. He approached the mayor who was finishing up a conversation with a very fine looking lady. He extended a hand and introduced himself, they engaged in some light conversation. Well Sir a few gentlemen were just heading outside to the courtyard for a cigar would you care to join us. The mayor agreed and walked alongside Stefan. This was a lot easier than he thought it was going to be. He had been ready for plan B but here he was heading out to the back of a building feeling rather smug with his work.

As they got outside Stefan wit his finely tuned hearing worked out exactly where Scottie was, reached into his pocket and offered a cigar to the Mayor. They slowly walked towards where Scottie was hiding and again engaged in casual conversation. You know I think you make a fine Mayor he said secretly checking that there was no one within range. Which is why I am sorry.

Sorry what on earth are you sorry for young man he exclaimed to Stefan. As he looked up at him he noticed an evil menacing grin spreading across his face. The face however soon was replaced by darkness, he was unable to breath properly and could feel himself being carried away somewhere at an incredible speed. Before he knew it he was dropped and he heard a large bang as the trunk was slammed down above him.

As Scottie approached the car Stefan was already sitting inside waiting. Really could you not just walk like a normal human being? he yelled as he climbed in and started driving. Stefan leaned back and laughed could you not have walked at a pace faster than your grandma?

Report Post Tip

Scottie heard his alarm clock going off in the distance, but despite the reading of two in the afternoon, it still felt far too early to wake up, so he grabbed the alarm clock and threw it against the wall. Of course, it didn't harm it, and it seemingly got louder. Strange how things work sometimes. Scottie finally decided to not mess with it anymore, and just got up and turned it off the proper way.

Well, I'm already up, may as well start getting ready for the ball, I suppose. He spoke aloud to no one in particular, as he walked off to shower.

A few minutes later, after finishing his shower, he got dressed in his finest suit and fixed his hair just perfect in a slicked back manner. He admired himself in the mirror for a few minutes, and then called Stefan to fill him in on the plan. Scottie would check in at the ball, make an appearance, shake a few hands, then watch for Stefan to head out with the mayor, before following suit shortly after.

With the plan firmly entrenched, Scottie exited his tent and beckoned Stefan to get in. They drove off in the direction of the Mayoral Ball, Scottie repeatedly burning the plan into Stefan's head; everything had to be perfect.

They finally arrived, and Scottie tossed Stefan out of the car so that Stefan could check in, and Scottie could find some parking. It would be better if they didn't go in together. Scottie watched in his rear view as Stefan checked in, and he backed into his parking spot, ready to go at a moment's notice. He then walked up to the door and spoke his name to the door man; Scott Weiland. The door man checked his name on the list, then parted to allow him entrance.

Scottie looked around the room, seeing many familiar places. Everyone was in their place, seemingly patiently awaiting what was to come. Scottie walked over to Fear and had some friendly banter with his good friend. He looked over and noticed that the Mayor was all alone, sipping from his drink, so he decided to take advantage of the situation. He walked over and extended his hand to shake that of the Mayor.

Hello there dear Mayor. Wonderful Ball you're having. I hope my tributes have been reaching you well.

He nodded at the Mayor's acknowledgement, and then wandered off to mingle with the other guests. After awhile of mingling, he looked up and noticed Stefan swooping in to enact the plan. After much nodding and smiling, the two of them wandered off towards the exit. Stefan did always have a way with words, but honestly, who would have thought the Mayor would agree to leave his own Ball to have a cigar? Alas, he did, so now it was Scottie's turn to make sure everything happened in a timely manner.

Scottie sprinted outside quickly and got into his car, speeding around to the back of the building, where Stefan was standing with the Mayor, sharing a Cigar. He flashed his headlights to make Stefan aware that it was him. Stefan quickly threw the Mayor into the trunk, faster than Scottie could comprehend.

I'll never get used to you doing that mate. Couldn't you just walk like a normal person?

Scottie laughed as Stefan climbed into the car with him, making some kind of smart ass remark that he didn't fully hear. After looking around to ensure that nobody witnessed what had just happened, Scottie sped off to The Carnival, where he was greeted by a large sign "Closed for the evening, sorry for any inconvenience." He smiled as he thought of the events that were to occur later that evening.

Spring had glanced over at the clock. Realizing she was late to announce the mayor's speech she set her glass down. She had her usual cheery smile and was very calm given what she had just arranged. She passed a few guests on her way to the stage at the back of the back of the ballroom.

She could hear the swish of her dress as she stepped up the stairs on the side of the platform. Taking the microphone on her hand as she motioned for the music to stop playing.

"Good evening ladies and gentlemen." She began. All eyes in the room turned towards them and she gave them her best smile. "It's time for the mayor's speech. So if you would please put your hands together for the Mayor of Corktown."

She watched for a few minutes as everyone glanced around them. Spring met Fear's eye and saw that it dawned on him what her plan was all along. She didn't doubt that he knew what her next step would be as she watched the crowd. She played along like the rest of them and pretended to glance around for the mayor.

Prior to the ball she had already gained massive support in favor for Fear to take over Corktown. It seemed she was not the only one that thought Corktown needed a change. A better person, a Godfather even.

Faking the best sad smile she could muster up in times like these she began to address the crowd in front of her.

"Well it seems that our mayor has disappeared. In his absence I would like to introduce a new addition to Corktown management. I would like to introduce Godfather Fear."

Spring began a round of applause. It became loud with clapping as soon as Fear's name was mentioned. She smiled over at him and motioned for him to come take his place. It was his speech that she really wanted to hear after all. Not some dried up old mayor.

Report Post Tip

Fear sat in his chair awaiting the Mayor to come up but he never did. He looked over towards Spring with a panicked look in his face. She was still smiling away as usual but she had that look in her eye, the one that let him know that the Mayor not showing up was no coincidence and that the likeliness of ever seeing him again were really low.

He got up out of his chair slowly as the people clapped awaiting his speech, the only problem is he did not make a speech for himself as he always thought he would just be more of in the pocket Leader knowing that the Mayor would do as he said whenever he said it but it seems that would not be the case now.

He made his way up to the stage nervously and tried to gather himself before standing in front of where the microphone was. He looked at the audience who were all interested in what he had to say. He took a step forward and was now standing in front of the microphone and said "Today was a glorious day as the Mayor's campaigns were going to be funded, but it seems people took an interest in making sure he could not finish what he started, therefore it is time for me to take over and finish the vision that we started together. From here on out this town will be cleaned up and policed by the Freaks who assembled to help me take over this place. We will invest in whatever is needed for this town whether it be schooling, jobs, whatever the case may be we will do it. I hope that all of you who came here today to support the Mayor will show me the same support that you showed him and help me move this town into its glory days.

With that said he stepped away from the mic momentarily and pulled out a folded up piece of paper and stepped forward again after unfolding it and said "I was going to do this after the Mayor's speech but it seems that will not happen so I will do it now, these are my thank yous as you would call them for the people who helped me get through life. First I want to thank Latin for giving me the opportunity to grow up in his family and work my way up and actually be something despite my somewhat dark past. It has been a honor to work under you and now to continue working under you and working for your city and building up a town that will make you proud. My next thank you goes to Tetley who supported me as I moved up the chains with Latin, he never once showed an ounce of distrust in me and supported me throughout the entire time I have been here, without him I would not be where I am at right now. On top of that I want to thank Curtis who has also put a ton of trust into me and not just that but he has been there for me anytime I needed him, he has always left his doors open to me no matter how minimal the issue was and that means a lot to me. I also want to thank everyone else who has ever supported me through my time thus far, Archangel for helping me out getting to where I am and being overall supportive when I needed it and lastly SiriusBlack for also being as supportive as they come, without these people some situations would have been a lot harder to solve and they have and will continue to always be there for me. Now there is many others who have helped as well in many different ways but I do not want this to be too big of a ramble so for those not listed who have been exceptional friends and supporters I thank you so much for believing in me and supporting me and hopefully it will continue as we carry on this journey. However I can see Spring glaring at me so it seems it is now time to hand this back over and expect a big applause for Spring who set up and hosted this wonderful event today as without her it would never have been possible."

With that he got off the stage as he watched Spring return to the stage and listened as everyone clapped as this was a big success that would not have been possible without her putting forward countless hours getting everything set up.

Report Post Tip

Spring got back on stage with a grin. She was ecstatic that it was finally coming together perfectly. Fear would be taking his role of Godfather in Corktown and the people would get a much better leader out of it then the mayor.

As she took the mic back she looked over at Fear as the applause died down a bit. A very serious look crossing over her laughing features.

"Let me be the first to congratulate you on this wonderful day. Let there be many drinks, lots of laughs and some joyous memories for tonight. It is such a beautiful night for it."

With that Spring hopped off the stage and stood amongst the crowd. A smile once more replacing her serious face.

Curtis made his way into the ballroom. It had been suitably decked out and the gathering were looking splendid. He found a table close to the stage and listened to Fear's speech as he accepted the position of new Godfather of Corktown. When he was done Curtis approached the resplendent Godfather and embraced him.

"Fear. Its been such a road you have walked to arrive here at this point. I remember our first few conversations. Discussing bloodline history, new starts, rebuilding reputations and ideologies. I was pleased we embarked on the course we did and I'm delighted to now stand here seeing you in this position, fulfilling your word and achieving your aims. The right way. With the right attitude and the right application. I'm not surprised that Chairman Latin chose to award you your own district, it was the right choice. If ever anyone merited this on effort alone, it was you. Here..."

Curtis turned and walked Fear out to the main doors. Just outside he waved a hand toward two men who were standing in front of a very long object veiled in silk. They turned and took a corner each and rolled back the great fabric to reveal a gleaming fantasy of a car. It was something barely within the realms of comprehension, a real state of the art, concept machine. Fear's eyes bulged as Curtis strode the length of it's great gleaming magnificence.

"This care was made by Rolls Royce of England! Led by chief aero engine designer Arthur Rowledge, they created this V-12 behemoth that is simply unparalleled. Liquid cooled and supercharged. Initial developments saw 1,400hp on the dyno in 1929. By the time the Supermarine S.6B seaplane established an air speed record in 1931, this R Type engine has been rated at 2,350hp!"

Curtis walked over to the still shocked but clearly enamored Fear and clapped him heartily on the shoulder.

"My friend, I thought long and hard about your gift and I ended up continually coming back to two of your characteristics. Your flamboyant sense of style and your utterly insane machine gun approach to mob mails. I was talking with a shipping engineer a while back and he showed me some grainy footage of this beast on an air field in the UK. Well, it hit me that I had to get it so I made the deal and had it shipped over. The_Stig drove it and when I asked him how it was, he simply wept. According to his mother and other scientists, that is the first time he has ever shed a tear. My friend, I can think of no more fitting a gift for you to be driving round your new district in, than this!"

He hugged Fear once more and smiled broadly.

"Congratulations my friend!"

I'm proud to call you GodFather again because I know it was a team effort to get you here, but Im MUCH more proud to call you my friend. Here's to a fantastic run and long live Corktown!!!

Tony Capazzo steps ahead of the crowd, he tips his lime green ribboned fedora to the crowd then takes a step up to his fellow Detroit Godfather...Fear. He leans in and shakes his hand and puts a envelope into Fear's pocket.

Congratulations Godfather Fear. This is well deserved, as I've mentioned previously we've been together for quite some time now and it's been a pleasure thus far working with you. Freak Town is alive and well thanks to you and I wish you all the best on this next chapter of your life. I look forward to continuing our business relationship alongside Godfather-Chairman Latin and making Detroit continue to expand.

Once again congratulations on this day, Godfather Fear.

Tony smiles and gives a upward nod towards Fear in congratulations. He then takes a few steps back allowing someone else to come forward and give their congratulatory words.

Just arriving to the city Brit noticed a celebration going on, she wasn't quite sure what it was at first but she kept on hearing something about a freak show and a carnival. Sounded like that could be fun, but she didn't have the time to do that just now. She was on the way to go find someone luckily for her the cab driver knew exactly where he was going. Getting to the HQ she was told by the guy at the front door to come in and wait, Fear should be back soon. Then it hit her "The Freak Show" they were talking about Fear, now it all began to make sense. It was extremely busy in Corktown because he was taking Godfather... and of all days for her to show up at his front door. After a couple of moments she watched as he walked through his doors.

He talked to Britney for a moment explaining to her she needed to prove herself and with that he headed off to his office. She didn't even get to congratulate him before he left, she walked outside about to start her journey when it dawned on her she really needed to go back in there and congratulate him. She walked back in the HQ walking by a bunch for people guys and girls both dressed in their best suits, and here Britney was walking in in her shorts and a beat up T-shirt. Everyone eyed her up wondering what she was doing back in here, she stood there patinetly waiting for her turn. Finally getting her turn she walked into his office.

He looked at her

"What do you want now? Did I just tell you that you needed to prove to me and here you are already. So out with it was is it?"

Britney was taken back slightly, but didn't let it phase her one bit.

"Godfather, sir I know you don't know me well enough yet but I have seen that your bloodline and mine has had a lot of run in's most of which were all good. I'm standing here today to congratulate you in this achievement, it is nice to see you take this awesome position."

Britney stopped to take a deep breathe

"I'm looking forward to proving to you I have what it takes and that I won't let you down. Again congratulations, looking forward to what the future holds."

Fear looked at her giving her a smile as she left the office.

IvanRomanov was playing catch up as usual. It seemed the old country kept him busy in the recent of days. Personal matter after personal matter... He was ashamed to arrive to Fear's late but he continued to give his respects to his comrade.

"Fear, this was always meant to happen for you. You are a very hard working man and this truly shows what kind of person you are. Rebuilding the Motor City was always a challenge and it seems you have been a great deal in that task. I hope to see the city prosper as it once did comrade. I'm sure the other Godfathers there are just as ecstatic as I am seeing you take this prestigious rank.

Congratulations Godfather Fear!"
