They had slaved for days on end to make this night special. The Willowbrook Ballroom had been rented out for the evening. Maple was in charge of decorating. She had ordered in the finest satin to cover the chairs, each one adorned with the drapery in a stunning purple colour. A black sash was tied just right into a bow along the back. On each table sat a beautiful flower arrangement that encased a single neon light. The light shone through a heart shaped opening, radiating purple hearts on the ceiling above.

Vash was in charge of the food. He had spent months tasting the cuisine that all the finest restaurants in Chicago had to offer. He had finally settled on Alexander’s Steakhouse. The smell of the steaks cooking filled the room and the salads were beautifully set out in bowls on top of chipped ice.

Starscream was put in control of the entertainment; everyone knew this could either end up real good or real terrible. Fortunately for all involved Starscream came through wonderfully. He had hired Ozzie Nelson and his band to play all night long. Their beautiful big band sound would surely get people up dancing.

The time had finally come. Jake had been told to dress his best and to cancel all plans; otherwise he wasn’t sure where he was going when the car pulled out of his driveway. Maple had told him the day before she had something big planned but he could not think of what. As the car wound through the familiar city streets, Jake’s curiosity grew and grew.

The driver finally pulled towards a grand building. Jake had not attended an event there before but had heard the grounds and ballroom were exquisite. As the parking lot came into view, Jake saw it was full. Lincolns, Rolls-Royces and Cadillacs lined the lot, glistening in the lights.

As Jake stepped out of the car and thanked the driver, Maple came running to his side. How she managed to move so quickly in those heels never ceased to amaze him. She gave her long time friend a welcoming hug and escorted him inside. The ballroom was full of his friends from New York, Detroit and Philly and of course his family from right here in Chicago. Jake smiled as Maple led him to his table and poured him a glass of champagne.

As the band started and the dinner was starting to be served Maple stood at Jake’s side. The room turned and listened as she began to speak,

When I first came to Czylharz as a young woman, the mob world was shaken. The huge war had just ended and so many were starting over. I watched as your crew grew and the wonderful people you had with you blossomed into highly skilled mobsters. The day you asked me to become your right hand, I was so overjoyed. Working alongside you was an incredible experience and one I would not change for anything.

I thank you for everything you have given me, for the laughs and the long nights. I know we lost many friends over our time but we have gained some great new ones too. Congratulations on your one year, Godfather JakeLuciano. I hope to work with you for a long time to come.

With that Maple raised her glass and toasted her friend. She hoped the night was perfect for him in this celebration with friends and family. As people sat down to eat their beautifully prepared steak, others began standing and congratulating Jake on his achievement.

It is with pleasure I stand by your side today as one of your Leaders chosen and raise my glass to your 365 days old. It is quite an accomplishment to survive all of the wars you have been through today. You also have given me chance after chance and no matter how many times I disappeared you welcomed me back with open arms.

Billy raises his glass in toast to the next 365 days that he will stand by Jake's side till death do us part.

Warwick enters the Willowbrook Ballroom. He hoped he wasn't late. The message from Don Maple has been passed onto him by his knucklehead associate Jimmeh. As per usual Jimmeh was slow with the info & Warwick was running late. He walks briskly past the rows of Cadillacs & Lincolns, pushes the door to the Willowbrook open & takes his seat next to Purps.

'365 days. What an achievement. Plenty of adversity to overcome & the whole of Chicago to shape. Jake has done it all & has outlasted most.' Warwick muses to himself while listening to Maple toast.

"Salut Jake! Happy Birthday"

Warwick raises his glass & smiles contentedly.

Mr. Grandfather JakeLuciano. I can call you Grandfather now right? Since you're older than most of us around, truth is you've made a remarkable achievement. I'm both happy and excited to continue working for you, for as long as I keep breathing it'll always be Czylharz forever.

Salut Grandfather Jake, I hope many more years to come.

Brandon walks into the beautiful building, and sees many friends, He pours himself a glass of champagne, takes a sip and walks up to Godfather Jake.

Well my friend, I hate to break it to you, but its official. You are old. That is ok though, in this world of ours, age is just a small problem, I want to congratulate you on everything you have done in the last year, and congratulate you on making it to be well.. old.

Brandon laughs a little as he walks over to a group of friends, and starts conversing with them.

Ive not been around for ALL of your run. But I was here when I saw you rise out of no where after the DS/PS war....started with a race to GF between you and Sol, now we here!!! 

Your one of those folks that have a good head on his shoulders here, and a one year anniversary is certainly not a easy feat to achieve. Regardless of all the critics, it requires quite a bit to run a district, city....country?!?! haha

You've worked hard for this day bro! And you've earned it....I'm sure you can't even count how many CL's have come out of your outfit! Its been quite something! :)
