I have respect for New York and I have respect for everything Deimne achieved.

Like all great things, it must come to an end. He was never naive enough to believe he would live forever and the fact that he stewarded our thing for as well as he did for as long as he did is a true testament to the man and the empire he built. He had solid people around him and this is by no means the end of the conflict.

However, this is business. We saw an opportunity to change the management of New York to something that would better suit the business interests of our families. We don't like getting taxed $20,000,000 or paying a shooting tax to shoot inactives - these things aren't good for business.

The members of Philly and Los Angeles have served their families with distinction; what makes you think they are worthless to us? Is that based on anything at all or just another ridiculous attempt to throw as many unrelated claims at us as possible in a bid that one sticks? My family know where they stand with me and this is part of my motivation for this move on New York. They work hard, they earn well and the give their leaders a respectable taste of all their action. Am I suppose to smile when these people I've supposedly betrayed dish out fines and threats like they are going out of fashion? I remember Gaius' words at CrazyNine's funeral. I remember PhelixTheSphinx's request of my then Godfather and I remember the fine New York levied upon us.

New York was a powerhouse and they acted as such. There is no problem at all with this for as long as you are able to get away with it. However, the danger is always there that you will eventually find yourselves trying to bully people who aren't going to bend the knee to you and defer to your judgement. This is what has happened.

I don't think any of the New York upper structure will be surprised by this, it isn't about good and evil, the greater good or any of that jazz. It all boils down to business and power.

Deimne, perhaps the greatest warrior of the current age has fallen. You will find no bad words for me about Deimne, he was a giant among the giants. However, what is done, is done -- this war has been and continues to be very well fought by both sides. Regardless of how the war ends, New York will have earned more fame and glory than any city in the history of our thing. New York's uninterrupted rule has gone on longer than any other city in the country, through two Godfathers they had never been defeated -- the final defeat will have come with all the world united against them, their Godfather offline, and yet they still put up a fight that will be remembered through the ages.

No one can forget such a battle or such warriors.

I have to say, everyone can insult and degrade SpaceMountain and Gwarble, but they still are respectable in my eyes. I'm most likely going to die today. That's ok. I've put my affairs in order, and I'm going to go down in a blaze of glory. But I don't mind.

There is one person whom I do not respect today. That's you, Dean. It is a shameful act to turn against your own city, just for selfish reasons. If you had stayed with us, do you not think you would be in the same position you are now? SpaceMountain and Gwarble had previously broken ties with New York, and trying to play up history is just ignorance on anyone's part. They were no longer New Yorkers.

I've got to say Phelix, I don't think I could've wrote it any better. When I was in Dean's family, I was always told, 'You have things to learn yet, I will teach you'. I'd ask you now, what are you going to teach me Dean? How to listen to a skirt that you've been chasing for years? How to betray the Godfather you swore loyalty to? How to become a lair and a traitor?

It was never about the position. My issues were with intricate members of the New York crime families stepping out of the boundaries of what New York represented or as I should say, what I thought New York had represented.

You hit the nail on the head there. That is exactly how I felt when I spent all this time in there with most of you. There were those who tried and I am yet to come to terms with myself for the decisions I have made. Saving my own skin was not one of them. I knew fully that there was a great possibility that I would not have walked out of this alive but quite the eye opener nonetheless.

Gaius, you still haven't learned and probably never will. I have seen you for your true colors and I am not the only one. Deimne was 1 of literally a handful of people that I truly respected in New York. But it was people like you that made it very difficult for me to just stand by and watch New York slip further into a city that was begging to be taken down.
