From experience Ive always noticed its the fresh guns that hit the 1% more often than not. I have no mathematical proof to prove this theory, however.

I think this is a case of hearing only filtered data.

Some real world examples:  MonsterHair - GFC shoots an inactive gangster.  He 1%'s that gangster.  No one will ever know it was a 1% because he would have hit with anything he shot with.  So these go unnoticed, you never hear about them. 

What you do hear about is the opposite, the gangster shooting the big guy and hitting, because that stands out and is newsworthy.

Every single day, there are 1%s that happen - you just only hear about the failed pro shots heh.

A 1% is a 1%, a fresh gun doesnt have any more chance than a medium built gun who stands no chance either.
