As always Gwarble an insightful read and one that sums it all up nicely, although we will mourn those friends that were lost they were not lost in vain what had to be done was done and in my opinion very effectivly and i have to agree with you that those who fought for New York did so admirably and should never be forgotten for these were true warriors who fought until the very end and what a battle they put up, much respect should go to these people and may all of the fallen rest in peace.

Maybe I am thinking of something else. Maybe my idea that part of Cosa Nostra is pledging and undying loyalty to your crew and it's leader is wrong. Perhaps that's the way things should be now. People drop "loyalties" and pick up new ones whenever it suits them best. Whenever it's best for business. You'll just have to hope these people will not get a better offer and they'll be more "loyal" to you then they were Deimne. Good luck with that.

I just come from a time where being joining a crew and becoming a made man in that crew meant that you would want to die with your crew and no other city would want to take you in because they would expect you would try to take revenge for their crew. I guess that has changed.

As I said before, time will show whether or not I've made the right decision.

Well in the case of Roman specifically I can assure you that you did. I can see your point about someone coming around and finding their leaders dead and city destroyed not throwing their life away. I don't agree with it, obviously, but I see your point. However, in this specific case, there is a big difference between having that happen and hiding in bed while knowing full well the rest of your city is locked in a war just so you have plausible deniability and can jump cities to save his skin. Which is what happened here.

I still think you're a great leader. I really do hope it works out for you. Maybe you're better then me because I let that stuff get in the way.

There will always be those kin of the dead who wish for vengeance. But what they must realise is that their parents loyalties lay with Deimne and as Deimne is now dead those loyalties are now over. Yes New York had a great run and produced the majority of the crew leaders/godfathers and high rankers of our cities.

But now they must move on, they must integrate themselves within other families and to do that is to swear loyalty to their new leaders.

It takes a lifetime to build a reputation, but that reputation can be wiped out with a single act.

However, as you say Gwarble only time will tell.

We're not talking about the dead's next of kin. We're talking about actual members of a crew who did not die.

Godfather Gwarble, I couldn't of said it any better myself. There were reasons for the war and you have stated them to the core my friend. War is considered good and bad for business. However it happens and what is done is done.

Our world lost some great people in the war and many of my great friends also passed away. God Rest Their Souls and I hope they all find peace. I have no grudge against anyone that was against us at all. They had their reasons to be on that side, we have our reasons for our side.

Once again Rest In Peace to the fallen and may our world grow once more.

Well Blutarsky as I said only time will tell.

What I will say is that for those who have survived the death of their family. They now have a choice to make, will they try and avenge their fallen kin who knows. If they do, it is a decision that will cost them dearly and possibly their next of kin as well. Now is an important time for them and they will determine their own fate.

There are many who may soon be in a position to lead a family of their own from the fallen families. That will be crunch time, for they will be up against those who took down their fallen famlies and will have much to prove that they are going to be able to work alongside them.

Their onus now is themselves and the families they have joined. Yes they have old loyalties, but while those loyalties are still going to be strong, the closer they can work with their new families they can develope new loyalties. From that they can go on to develope themselves more in our line of business.

I'm impressed that you came on here and explained the nature of the war and our reasons for it.  We lost many good people on both sides.

My ancestor fell, the first of his line who through hard work and the grace of both the LA crews and Anselmo in Philly moved all the way up to Consigliere.

That being said I hold no ill will on the decendants of the fallen from either side and look forward to getting back to earning.

Still a class move getting on here and explaining why things went the way they did.

Godfather Gwarble, those were some very good words, and it was interesting to understand your reasoning for the events that occurred. As everyone else has said, this war was a very tragic one but it was interesting to see how it worked out. I have faith that there will be some good from this war, and that you and the rest of the Godfathers will bring forth a new era in this thing of ours.
