All in all it was a good season, only thing that sucks is having to wait forever for the final season to come out.

Anybody else really like the Theon scene? He's been pretty useless all season but I really liked Jon Snow telling him that he's both a Stark and a Greyjoy. Mostly because of the reveal later. Maybe next season when he's struggling with his own identity, Theon will come along to remind him that it's okay because Jon is both a Targaryen and a Stark. 

Unlike a lot of other fans, I seem to think the Littlefinger death and mishandling of Sansa seemed very realistic to me. Nobody is perfect and Littlefinger's weakness really was his creepy love for Sansa. It also makes sense to me that someone like him would go from clever to a sniveling little idiot. I feel like your true personality would come out when your life is directly threatened.   

Funkyliljunkie It's in both. Whenever they're referring to one of the little mindless zombie type creatures(not the leaders), they call them Wights. They're reanimated corpses. The leaders are the White Walkers and everything we've seen in the show seems to suggest that they're turned into White Walkers while they are alive. The main leader is the Night King, the first to be turned. The two are sometimes collectively referred to as the army of the dead. 

On a related note: there's debate amongst fans as to whether the dragon that was turned is a White Walker dragon or a Wight dragon. I'm in the it's a Wight camp because we've never seen something dead turned into a White Walker before. 

The author of the books has also referred to those resurrected by the Lord of Light's magic(Beric Dondarrian and Jon Snow) as Wights too but a different kind of wight. Unlike the mindless wights, their "souls"/minds/whatever have been somewhat left intact. They are still reanimated corpses. Which brings that sex scene with Jon's aunt to a whole new level of creepiness. 

I have a few comments on your comments, LuckyLucy! I'm a little obsessed though(RIGHT, Jenbola?!) so I tend to ramble on too long about Game of Thrones. So I'd completely understand if you decide not to reply to me. lol. You should see my drafts folder. So many drafts of emails I meant to send to various Game of Thrones podcasts... 

For those of you doing the math at this point... this makes Jon a bastard son (due NOTHING by the standards of the world... sorry Lyanna Mormont, I love you but you're WRONG) who hasn't won any battles, who breaks his oaths and welcomes wildings (the north's huge enemy since... forever) south of the wall.  

It seemed to me that the only one that they showed him hiding his death from was Daenerys. With good reason. You don't want to ask someone to help fight Wights and White Walkers when you yourself are technically a dead person/Wight. Not a mindless typical White Walker turned Wight but rather a R'hllor/Lord of Light soul has come back with you type wight. You don't reveal that on the first date. You wait a while for her to discover it on her own once she likes you enough not to run away.

As far as welcoming the Free Folk, well, that's actually a reason to follow Jon. He got two bitter enemies who have hated each other and killed each other for thousands of years to work together because of a common enemy. The enemy of my enemy is my friend. If Ser Alliser Thorne and Olly(#FuckOlly) would have had their way, all of those wildlings would have been added to the army of the dead. You need that kind of leadership when you're trying to rally the kingdoms to your side. 

I don't think it matters much to the Northmen that he hasn't won any battles on his own. He fought for the north and was willing to die for the north despite being considered a bastard(even though he isn't really) and I think that's really all that they care about. Noble actions seem to be important to them. The north remembers. That and the fact that they think he's Eddard Stark's son. 

Although I wonder what will happen when the North finds out that Jon Snow is not a bastard but in fact Aegon Targaryen. Will it even matter? Also, will Jon embrace his new/original name? I would really like him to and I'd also really like it if "King Aegon" pulled a Joffrey and started using heraldry that embraced both of his parent's houses(a dire-wolf and a dragon). 

Why did the south cheer for him over Sansa... or hell, even Bran?  Come on guys!  I expected a LOT more men of the north to insist that Bran be seen as the leader... we're talking about a kid who survived north of the wall despite being a cripple! 

Bran would never accept it. He said as much when Sansa was trying to find out if he wanted to be the Lord of Winterfell. He's the Three Eyed Raven now. Much like how Aemon had an opportunity to take the crown but refused to do so because of his oaths. 

 I half expected Jon (and God alone knows why I expected Jon 'I know nothing' Snow to do this) to say "HEY!  That guy is dead!"

He's not the same kind of Wight as the Wight they brought though(just like Jon isn't the same kind of Wight). As The Hound said "Remember me? yeah, you do" implying that he thinks there is still something that remains of Gregor. 

Is everyone in Westeros seriously falling for the whole woman over 40 in a stressful lifestyle + extreme consumption of alcohol is pregnant gag? 

I think she actually is pregnant. Qyburn asked her in the episode where that reveal happened if she needed anything for it. Which seems to indicate he was offering her a way to abort the fetus. Granted, that could have been staged for Jaime's benefit but how long can you pretend to be pregnant for before people catch on that you're faking? I think it's far more likely she took advantage of her new situation to manipulate Jaime. If she's lying she'd lose him for sure. It's worth noting that the director of the finale has been quoted as saying that he thinks Cersei is definitely pregnant. Then again, they said Jon was not coming back to life for an entire summer. 

And a BIG thumbs down for ignoring Gilly.  No I'm not talking about Sam, yea, that made sense... he was having a pity party and was all wrapped up in his own annoyance/fear.  I'm talking about the writers and how they just let Sam be like "Oh yea, I knew about that!" When it was Gilly!  He totally blew it off and didn't put any weight on that detail.  Why not have Gilly in the scene.  She's got one talent folks, one.  Let the damn woman spew her Jeopardy like knowledge!

Gilly wasn't telling him something he hadn't already read. Gilly was reading one of the documents/books he had already transcribed. "At the Citadel, I transcribed a High Septon's diary". Her role in all of this was purely to let the audience know that Sam had stumbled upon the information. He wasn't even paying attention to her when she was talking and was simply recalling what he had read & transcribed on his own. No credit was stolen because no credit was deserved. 

Speaking of Sam, shouldn't he have technically reported back up to Castle Black to the acting Lord Commander? I doubt it will matter in the end since I'm sure by the time this is all over, the Night's Watch will be disbanded, but I'm curious to see if anyone points it out. 

Thoros in regards to Sam, technically he shouldn't have stolen books or left before his training was done as he was commanded by his commander (heh) to come back with a chain. Soooo.

True. Although I feel like they'd be more forgiving if he went back to the wall and just admitted defeat. Then again, like I said, since part of the wall has come down and I doubt they'll be able to raise it back up...I doubt the Night's Watch survives The Great War. 

OMG, I am a falure, Jenbola. I wrote all that and didn't somehow incorporate some sort of weird Lord of Light or Essos saying. No talking about the night being dark and full or terror or valar morghulising. :'(
