South Side steps into the Afterlife Started by: Princesa on Aug 24, '17 21:40

The windy city was all hustle and bustle on this busy Thursday afternoon. The city streets of Chicago had always been alive day and night, but today it was busier than usual. The Italian restaurant on the South Side was packed to the brim as it usually was, but there was a particular group of Chicago mobsters that sat in the back reception room. Everyone knows that when that room was booked, something great was going to happen. Changes were happening. When you saw two bodyguards standing at the entrance, you knew you were to steer clear. Behind the guarded doors was all chatter and smiles. The booze was flowing and the party had begun. The room was filled with all the powerful leaders of South Side and their allies from Philadelphia. The waiters were bringing in big plates of pasta and other dishes to sit in front of them.

At the two ends of the long antique dining table sat a woman drenched in diamonds and fur, her diamond sunglasses sparkling from the chandelier lights. She was the Princess of South Side, but her family from the old country had always called her Princesa, so it had stuck with her. Beside her, her lovely right hand, Lunara, the deadliest warrior around. The two had grown up together and were thicker than thieves. If you fucked with the princess, you fucked with her and that was something no man would want. She was taking a joint being passed to her from the resident weed man, DustinBowls. He had the largest drug operation in these parts, weed being his specialty. At the other end, a rather round man squeezed into his chair, grimacing, some juice spurting out onto the new table cloth. He was known as Orange, the juiciest godfather around these parts. He was known to be fierce, but loved by all. He puffed his cigar as he tucked a napkin into his collar. His adorable, cheeky right hand, South-Paw was already digging into the large portion of carbonara, Deces was beside him popping all the popcorn she could into her mouth. Across the way, @Henri-Ducard, the newest addition to the South Side uppers, sipping his coffee with a smile. Looking at the shiny woman, Orange gave the nod from across the way. She recognized the nod. The nod was the green light to go.

Standing up, Princesa grabbed her wine glass and tapped it several times with a fork. Conversations kept going, the room was not getting quieter and this would not stand. Sighing, she threw the glass against the wall, the glass shards falling to the floor. The men and women at the table immediately looked forward, the noise ceasing.

"Well now. I see that I have the full attention. Took long enough."

She smirked, the waiter running over to pick the glass pieces up.

"You have all been invited here for a reason..a reason that most of you are not aware of. I have kept this quiet while the Godfather and I had our discussions, but now it has been decided."

Nodding towards Lawnmower, the newest godfather to these parts and his "special" right hand, Peroxide, Princesa continued.

"As you all know, Lawnmower has moved his operations to Philly to help the city grow. South Side and Chicago as a whole is growing. This being said, I'm pleased to announce that our very own Osiris will be setting up alongside of Orange and myself."

The mobsters roared with applause, the room filled with positive energy. Princesa smiled towards Osiris, patting his shoulder.

"Osiris has shown potential here, he's earned this chance. I am so excited to see what the future holds and I have the confidence that he will help South Side continue to flourish. Congratulations, Osiris!"

Princesa hugged Osiris as she stood beside him, beaming with pride.
"Ladies and Gentleman, I present to you our newest Chicago crew, The Afterlife."

Osiris smiled after giving Princesa another hug, and bringing Lunara in so he can hug them both.

"Honestly, I couldn't have done it without you two. You encouraged me to step up and prove myself. Even days when I didn't know what else to do, you both assured me that my hard work would pay off."

After adjusting his suit, he shook Dustin's hand. The two had been working together for a while, and this opportunity would be perfect for their business operations.

"It would be an honor to bring you as my right hand. I think we've been working great together and now we can expand our operations!"

Osiris had worked hard for Chicago. It was a major honor to earn the keys to a headquarters. He raised his glass as he gave a nod to the Godfathers, Dons, and powerful mafiosos in the room.

"My appreciation cannot be put into words. I will continue to prove myself to you all. It's an honor to earn the privilege of working alongside you all in South Side, Chicago. Let us toast to life and prosperity!"

"Make sure he gets it as soon as possible. And ask him when do I finally get a chance to host him." Husky said to one of the boys handing him the package. It was his best Canadian Whiskey, smuggled in especially for occasions such as these, wrapped in a newspaper with a note attached that simply read.

"To new suits, and new beginnings ~ Husky"

Ravi walked up to @Orisis and firmly shook his hand, happy to see the young man had been given an opportunity he deserved. All the interactions he had with the mobster had been amazing, and he knew that he would thrive at the head of a family.

Sarah Rainmaker wasn't one often found in the streets. She preferred to stay behind closed doors, out of the spotlight. But today was an exciting day for one of her fellow crew members and so she thought it most appropriate to make an appearance, at least for a few minutes.

"Congratulations Mr. Orisis. I didn't get to speak with you much in the short time I've been here in Chicago, but I'm sure you've done well and earned this honor. I look forward to seeing what great things you accomplish in your new family."

Nodding to the new crew leader, she then turned and wondered back to the headquarters.

Joseph finally got in the establishment after a hard time given to him by the guards at the door not believing him. There was a table full of upper structure member's of various families.Joseph thought he is in the right place. He got close to one of Osiris's bodyguards and whispered into his ear ''I got a special message from Don AdmiralAckbar leader of The Rebel Alliance in DT but need to give it to your boss directly.'' he said.Guard nodded his head and raised one of his hand to make it clear that Joseph has to wait for a moment.Guard came back after a brief talk with his boss and said ''You can give it to him but nothing more just hand over the message ''he said.Joseph really wasn't thinking about doing  anything more ,he was just here  to honor his boss's assignment. He respectfully salute Osiris by taking and putting his fedora to his chest and bending his back a little towards to new boss as he handed him the message.
