Roman pulled up to a group of people who he just so happened to suspect wanted to hear about the goings on of the previous day. He could tell that this was the crowd who needed to hear the truth.
Friends, family, what a brutal day of loss and triumph. Heartbreak and resilience. Although it may not mean too much coming from me, I want to say that to those that fought and died bravely with us, you have our infinite and undying gratitude. There was so much selfless sacrifice in this war, and I want all the survivors to know that we have an obligation to those that didn't make it to live our lives with what they gave up for us in mind. Legendary leaders such as Premeir-, Anselmo, and Robert_Guiscard paid the ultimate price for us and I know I personally will remember them for what they helped us accomplish today.
A lot of you have questions as to what WAS actually accomplished today, so many are coming back confused, shaken, and homeless after what has transpired. So allow me the duty to try and help fill in the blanks. What you all helped us accomplish today was simply... The greatest underdog victory in the history of the world. I know things looked grim early on as New York was viciously and needlessly attacked by the dictators in New Orleans and Chicago, but the humble cities three of Las Vegas, Los Angeles, and Philadelphia could not stand idly by as one of their closest allies took fire. So into war we went with guns blazing and Colin playing the part of wrecking ball to any sleeping Don he could find.
Believe me when I say we were shocked about the aggressive actions shown by Chicago and New Orleans but we soldiered on plowing through leader after leader until it was over. However, our 4 cities couldn't be held under the tyranny of the Chicago/New Orleans power duo. From that desire to be free, the cities formed an unspoken coalition called Project Liberty Dagger. Although our powers may be less when divided, when we came together we were able to surprisingly overtake the cities that ambushed New York in the dead of night.
A by-product of the war pushed me into the position of oldest mafia member in all the land. Overtaking such noteable names as leiahyk and ChrisHammers. Many people have heard of the heroic survivals of Roman and have in fact enquired within, but this might have been the most heroic of all. So you know, if any of you have any questions, you can ask me now as I am the most sagely of them all.
In the end, we lost a lot, a lot more than we ever should have, but we couldn't let a close ally be swallowed up by "The Machine". People are saying, "Roman, how'd you come through yet ANOTHER war?" And I think that's a fair question. Even Rasputin has had himself a ponder about how a man named Roman continually maneuvers his way through wars. I wish I had an answer for you all, sometimes you just have "it". For example Roman has the "it" that makes him a heroic survivor, where as Alessandro-Dionisio did not have "it" and died suddenly.
Everyone loves the tale of an underdog, and this war's theme could've been underdog victory against the greatest odds in history. I just want to thank all the cities who worked tirelessly with us despite being completely outnumbered, it's because of you we pulled through this. |
