Kuklinski, I must say I found your account of Las Vegas history possibly the most entertaining version of events imaginable. I'd rarely believe someone could interpret facts with such fantasy. Marvellous! Now, seeing as this is public domain and you have elected to present your father's works in this light, I feel duty bound to tell a slightly different tale..

Your father was the least favoured end of an entertaining experiment. By nothing short of spectacular luck, he ended up being the only remaining leader in Las Vegas. This does not constitute him being a criminal mastermind and certainly doesn't mean he was even passable as a leader. Basic fact is, at the time, there was no leader in existence who had more revolt, general bad feeling and mistrust directed at them by their own members and the rest of the country around them. Richard was clueless about anything to do with basic leadership. He called more experienced mobsters in New York daily asking a plethora of questions about every problem he had. He had absolutely no skills in man management, growth, prioritising needs, developing a business strategy, controlling his members, intercity relations or wiping his own arse. He was utterly pathetic.

Ah, I hear you say, but how did he remain alive so long? Well, I'll tell you. Certain powerful mobsters kept him alive. Answering all kinds of questions about how to make his family work, how to control his people, how to develop an image, how to interact with other city heads, how to conduct himself in the street, how to dress, how to do everything imaginable in life. Richard asked advice about every single element of being alive. And he still make a complete balls of it.

The powerful in New York spent countless hours explaining to would-be Kuklinski assassins, why he needed to be kept alive. "But he's a cretin", "He's clueless, all his members hate him", "I hate the guy", "He can't tie his own shoe laces", "He's no leader worthy of a city, no leader worthy of anything", "He's a bad dick" and a myriad of other legitimate reasons for his death were countered with arguments about the Las Vegas experiment and it's purpose. See, its impossible to understand how Richard remained alive as long as he did without understanding what the Las Vegas Experiment represented to those that set it up.

Las Vegas was established to give the country something it badly needed. It was designed as a city that was not a part of established Mafioso circles and utterly independent. In association, action, rules and direction, Las Vegas was set up to bring a disassociated freshness to the country's various criminal enterprises. Richard represented exactly that. He was the very definition of a 'No name C'. As such he was perfect. He had no friends, no experience worth mentioning, no idea what he was doing and no association with the established lines in controlling positions at the time.

The hope was that with enough guidance, support and attention Richard would develop into something greater than the clueless shit-eating no-mark that he was. Those with an interest in seeing the Las Vegas idea pan out, did literally everything they possibly could to help Richard develop. At virtually every turn he failed to take their advice. He consistently interpreted what they had said in his own way. This invariably caused another round of headaches for those trying to keep good men and women with compelling reasons, from killing him.

Now if you had come out here with honestly and humility and said "Yeah my dad was a complete tool but he tried his best to learn and more power to him for having a go." I'd have applauded, I'd have said yeah, that's the truth of it, good on you for calling it as it was. But you elected to present him as some kind of criminal mastermind with an inspirational leadership ability and charisma to match. That's unacceptable. It flys in the face of way too many facts. Your father was a complete tool. To claim he was anything other than a paranoid witless cretin with delusions of competence is laughable.

My father sat in the central New York hit room all day, every day, for a very long time. He spent his every waking moment in the company of the most powerful figures and assassins in our world, even the ones that reign today. In the entire time he was alive, no shot was requested and denied more often than the one on Richard_Kuklinski. I think that tells its own story.

This has been covered already. Deimne clearly regarded the 'de facto' Godfather of Las Vegas as a shrewd and cunning General, clearly a vital ally - the sort of person who you do your utmost to surround yourself with.

The only reason he stayed alive was because of Deimne, no one liked him, he was downright incompetant. I've seen Sea horses with superior intelligence to Mr.Cocklinski. Seems that when Deimne died there was no one to protect him. The first time he takes part in a war there are hundreds of people jumping from all directions to shoot the poor excuse for a leader.

So yes, Branston. We do know something, we are what seem to be the educated minority these days, who have the balls to speak in the streets. Much unlike Mr.Cocklinski.

It's good that the former powerhouse of NY are represented here.  They had a part to play in the LVCF epoch.  Tyrion especially.

as of right now, i have less then no interest in giving my opinion of the events surrounding the las vegas costello frack-tion.

however, i should note that all of you who have spoken against the words of young kuklinski have not help your own cause any. every person who speaks up here continues to ensure that kuklinski stays in the spotlight. so, give it up, go home and keep making money.

I like how Scorpion speaks about sea horses who have superior intelligence than Mr Kuklinski - then refers to him as "Mr. Cocklinski." I love the intelligent line of thought that went into it. I started out with this man in Las Vegas and he was kind enough to protect me and give me a start. With that i respect him. I don't care what he has done. I just cared what he has shown me. I don't know much about him before i traveled to Vegas after getting off the boat, but he has done nothing since i've been here that showed anything bad about him. Maybe he is or he isn't a complete fool but from what i saw, he was a descent and good guy. So why come and bitch about him? Im sure you'll get over it and stop wasting space in the streets with your tired speeches.
