It's been said that once a player becomes Godfather, their game changes to one of defense and there is little incentive not to play this with a real heavy hand. Perhaps there needs to be a definitive "win" condition to the game? My suggestion is making Godfather a rank that can be held for a certain amount of time. Once a person has done that position for the defined amount of time, their character gets go "go back to the old country" with the singular honor of being able to say they won. The mafia, in respect (because, let's face it, no one is gonna LOVE the guy who was so good of a murdering bastard that he held the position for that long) for his/her hard work, they let an the 'old goat' retire to a vineyard country estate on an island far away, in peace. There could be a page on the site which is dedicated to those who achieve this honor with links to profiles which the player can write the text for, this would give the godfather a place to share their achievements, brag, or give one final finger to his/her enemies and be immortalized on the site. New players could always walk through that area of the site and enjoy seeing some of the historical leaders of the game and learn about them. It might also be fun to put a special area on every profile page that shows how many times you've been a Godfather which a player can choose to display or not display (after all, they may not want folks to know who they are - but some might want to wear that badge with pride at some point.) Anyway - this would prevent there from ever needing to be a Godfather put down for being destructive to the game and ideally keep folks from losing their crap when a bad Godfather rises. After all, while a particular regime might suck - just like in real life, no one lives forever. Okay, there's my thought for what it's worth. |

My suggestion is made with good intentions to everyone playing here. So regardless of what you think of me or my previous statements/observations, it stands on it's own merits. I honestly can't see a downside to the suggestion... can you? |

I do. Personally? I don't like leaderboards. I think the only way to 'win' MR should be to have people remember you. Among all the drama and the fighting and politics, for you as a player to be remembered. |

Well, I didn't mean it as a leader board (honestly the title is probably poor) more like a place on the site that does recognize those who have been leaders in the past and a function that keeps any single leader/regime from going on without end. Granted, the cynic in me thought of this at work: it probably would fail because if someone wanted control of the game they could simply put in an endless stream of facemen and women to hold the GF position in their name. *shrug* Eh. I meant well. Sadly, people generally suck monkey butts. *shrug* Can't blame a girl for trying to help. |

I totally support this one. It gives ambitious players (or everyone) something to aim for. It's like a vision. Or a glorified Hall of Fame for Mafiosi. You'd go like, "Ahhh, I can finally retire peacefully. Fuck everything else; i'll take care of my vineyard." |
