| A Public Appeal to our Leaders | Started by: SeanAdams on Sep 06, '17 23:23 |

Sean paced as he waited for the crowd to form, regularly looking down at his watch. A creased piece of paper was folded in his hand, words noticeable on both sides. He hoped his speech would go well. He looked back down at his watch as the crowd was starting to gather, so shortly after the meeting of the mafia's leadership. He just hoped people would come and listen with an open mind. He stepped up onto the milk crate. Ladies and gentlemen, these times have been especially chaotic. I don't want to take away anybody's valuable time that could be better used working to rebuild in the aftermath. In recent months, we have been arguably more divided than any time in our history. Regardless of which side we, or our ancestors, supported, we can all agree that this division has fostered tension and distrust in our community. My proposal is a very simple one. I hope that, by bringing this public, that we can all discuss and give our opinions. I am respectfully asking the leadership of our cities to choose and open a district or two to the public. I ask that they allow anyone with the money, talent, and (perhaps most importantly) the moxie to try to have a go at leadership themselves. For so long, people have felt like they have been stifled in their opportunities. With this period of rebuilding ahead of us, I feel that giving this opportunity to everybody would help rebuild that trust and ease those tensions. Before I open the floor, I ask that we all remain civil, and discuss this peacefully. Sean steps off the crate and waves for anyone who wishes to speak to do so. |

Leonidas stopped once he saw the man stepping up onto the crate in preparation of giving a speech. It would be the second one he had seen today, so naturally he was curious. As he listened to the man, he nodded his head along in agreement to what he was saying. He was right. Too long had our community been divided, and right now we needed unification more than any time before. He looked around him at all the faces that had stopped to listen, wondering how many agreed and trying to figure a number that did. After the man stepped down, he walked up and extended his hand in friendship. I agree with everything you just spoke about friend. I stand behind this wholeheartedly, and I do hope that others do the same. We must rebuild and make our world into a more thriving community, as it had once been before. |

Sean nods, giving Leonidas' hand a firm shake. Thank you for coming forward. I hope everyone with interest or an opinion will, to give their critiques and their criticisms. I, personally, can't imagine a scenario where I would oppose opening leadership opportunities to the public like this. In all the histories I've read, these programs are a great opportunity for people who may have never gotten the opportunity to prove themselves to do so. |

Walter was hustling in the city when he saw a large crow gathering, and an outspoken leader named Sean that Walter had seen before and appreciated hearing.
Walter respected some of Sean's past words, and was intrigued to see what was going on. Walter loved what he was hearing and couldn't agree more, Walter clapped heavily as he puffed on his lit cigar.. "It is important in these trying times for this country to come together, and it seems like people like Sean are just what we need."
Walter handed Sean a few bills and went on his way, knowing in his heart the community, and country as whole, was going to be alright. |
