Question regarding BG training Started by: Gwarble on Jul 27, '10 05:51

This thread is intended to be a discussion of the bodyguard feature. I would have posted in the existing thread, but it has since been moved to the help forum and the majority of the threads there tend to just gather dust.

Recently, the system regarding bodyguard training was evaluated and altered. One of the elements of particular interest to me, was:

Rewards will be implemented for those bodyguards that get trained on a (somewhat) regular basis. You will find that a bodyguard who has been trained say, 6 times, in some cases will out perform better than the other bodyguards who have only been trained once or twice. Long term loyalty to your bodyguards will ensure you their loyalty back, and they will provide better protection than ever before.

For the entirity of this account I've trained my bodyguards as soon as they are able to be trained. I questioned at the time if this would account for previous trainings prior to the change and I was told this would not be possible. Fair enough, I have no issue with that and understand why it isn't.

However, some two months down the line since this change, still regularly training the bodyguards whenever they are able to be trained, I have noticed no change and no reward for this costly practice. I would just like clarification if possible, that such a feature is actually in place? Is it that the player is simply not informed of their bodyguard's improvement or is it just not happening?

Thank you.

The coding didn't work properly, so it was scrapped till they got round to trying it again. So training a certain bg atm will give you no advantage.

Is the coding still in place for when MIA's or RIA's or some type of IA decides to join you to be a bodyguard?

I am fairly sure I saw it happen once to RampagingFox but didn't know if it was still working

That's happens from a random jailbreak of a specially coded IA I do believe.

It does happen as I got one myself from a JB.

Would be a nice feature for bodyguards to become loyal the more money you spend on them. Maybe actually live longer if this was in place.

Eh making them take less dmg as they get pelted would be nice perhaps. Of course if a 300 kill gun starts shooting them there fucked regardless.

I don't think it needs to be any tougher to kill bodyguards than it is at the moment.

I think that the last few wars have actually shown just how useless the mid level guys are and that it was largely those people pounding away that affected the odds.

But then again, I still think that both defence and wack have gone to ridiculous extremes, so I guess my view on this topic is fairly obvious.

Was this a correct answer? Im curious.. as I was hoping the idea of.. training them all the time... etc, would make them reliable and maybe save your ass in a war or eventually hopefully is the plan

Not only that but if the code was scrapped it would have been nice to inform the oommunity like we were informed when the code went into effect.  Those that were/are training their massive amounts of BGs would have liked to have known this tidbit of information.
