I'm wondering if there was a way for players to have an option to click a link (maybe once per month instead of daily as the PBB sites are) and it creates a tweet or fb post that, if actually sent to social media, earns the player some cash or credit reward.  This might help drum up more players because chances are good that if I enjoy games like this - I probably know a few others who do too.

There's something sorta like this? Under Manage - Profile - you'll notice a Referral Link that you can post on your social media to draw users in, you retain (some amount, I don't remember how much) some cash from their earnings up until they hit Made.

I think it really has to do with the quality and frequency.  I don't mind (in fact I like) knowing what games my friends are playing but I don't want 20 posts in a row about the darn thing.  If I saw something, even once a month, that said "Hey I'm playing this - come check it out" I'd be okay with that and either check it out or scroll onward.

Other option would be to create content (like videos about the game, or the community) and encourage sharing of those sorts of things.  There are a lot of creative people on the site - you could make contests to encourage the community to do that work for you.  "Win a credit with the most creative Mafia Returns art of the month"  or "Win three credits for the most amazing promo / movie trailer video" or "Win a Forums VIP membership with a contribution to a website blog that we can share"  (we don't have a blog so far as I know but hell, we could!)

When folks spam us with "join this game" it's annoying.  Friends sharing cool content, that's another thing entirely.

A big part of this site is RP, so why not make that a requirement for referral's?

    Instead of just spamming the hell out of every random chat room, why not have our active recruiters have a requirement that they gotta screenshot conversations of rp'ing with someone about our site. That way its not spam city but an active challenge to get people to recognize what our site is really about.

   Rewards can differ from just spam link ref's, and RP screenshotted ref's (obviously the RP ref's would command a higher reward than the spam link ref's) and like i said just have them screenshot part of the convo leading up to the link being given
