Reluctantly, Johnny made his way out into the cold Chicago night. He crumpled a party hat as he tore it from atop his head and threw it to the sidewalk. Music could be heard escaping from inside as the Badass Inc New Year's celebration carried on without him. He glared back through the windows before collapsing onto the doorstep and digging through his coat for a cigarette. Lighting one, he began to think aloud to no one in particular. Another year gone. He inhaled deeply. Here we are, celebrating the past when there's work to be done. What exactly have we done that's worth recognizing? Killed some people? Made some money? Big fucking deal--it's nothing to be proud of. Everyone's talking about their resolutions. They're quitting smoking or drinking or gambling. Well, that's fantastic and all, but how about something that actually matters? Why not resolve to make this year worth remembering? This job digs at you. It's more that just work, it's life. It's the same thing day in and day out and I don't like it. I can't imagine many do. Everyone complains and does nothing. I'm not doing that. This family's not doing that. They'll fucking see. He extinguished his cigarette on the pavement and got to his feet, turning and heading back into the headquarters building. |

Humm, a New Year... A new resolution... What could I say to that? Misty bites her lip and thinks a bit then smiles How about this one: For this year I want to change the way people look at the world... I want to bring back a brilliance this world hasn't seen in a long time... and I want to be something more then just "Alive" I want to have lived this life to the fullest I could pull off... So all in all, I want to go the distance and see what I can be. |

Premier, Wouldn't that mean you'd have to stop killing people for the resolution to work? One of the many Resolutions I don't see being fulfilled. EL grins then turns to the shadows |
