Dion's Tea and Crumpets Started by: DionBrook on Sep 16, '17 13:13

Tony looked at Bubbles and after a few seconds started laughing as he realized she was planning a robbery she wanted to decorate her office.  Tony shook his head as he was wanting actions and she gave him action in the form of comedy.  He again looked at her.

You're funny lady.  That was a good one and I had no idea that you were joking around.   Come on I'll have to buy you that dam painting now that you had rambling like a jack ass.

Tony finished his drink and then started putting his coat on. While waiting on her to take him to the art gallery

It had been a while since Tony was last here and this time he was even happier to be there as he brought the love of his life with him.  His men opened the door for them to enter and they walked to a free table.  He pulled out the chair for Frankie-Massina and then walked over to his chair.

The food is good here they have more then just Crumpets.  I love the green tea its always hot and it has a good flavor.

Frankie smiled and then whispered, "What the hell is a crumpet anyway?"  She laughed.  "I'll let you order for us.  I have no idea what would be good but I'm excited to try it all!"

She looked around taking in the beautiful decor.  "Tell me, how did you come to find this little place the first time?"

Tony smiled at his bride to be and whispered to her.

A crumpet is a griddle cake made from flour and yeast. Crumpets are an Anglo-Saxon invention.  The early crumpets were hard pancakes cooked on a griddle.  You are so lovely, I just have to tell you that.

He leaned back as the waitress came to take their order.  Smiling that Frankie he ordered the following.

Sliced pork roast with a that crunchy crust that is boiled in you pots.  Steamed potatoes and your Greek salad with roasted chicken.  A bottle of your very best red wine and those garlic buttered bread sticks with the mozzarella graded cheese on them.

Tony hands the waitress $100 and tells her the four men behind him make sure they get there orders also and keep the change.  His eyes never left Frankie's face as he spoke.

I'm glad you made it.

"Leave it the British to ruin a pancake and call it a dessert."  She said softly.  "Are you gonna stare at me and smile that stupid grin all night or just through dinner cause... it's kinda adorable, but it does make it hard to think of much else."  She stuck her tongue out at him playfully.

When the wine came Frankie didn't hesitate to lift her glass for Tony to pour her some.  She sniffed at it, rolled it around in the glass and examined it completely before finally allowing herself to enjoy it.  "It's French wine, isn't it?"  She asked Tony to show her the bottle.

Tony laughed as she stuck her tongue out at him.  He then nodded surprised that she knew her wine.  He handed her the bottle it was a French Red Burgundy wine, the ultimate French Chardonnay.

My future wife isn't a lush is she?

Just then the food arrived two plates where placed on the table one in front of each.  He looked at the food then said grace while holding her hand.  Then he filled her glass and his own as they started to eat.

Frankie enjoyed the meal, making a point to tell Tony she took it as a compliment that she was a lush 'thank you very much.'

Upon finishing the meal she asked, "What's next?  Now that your stomach's full are you going to tell me that you're tired like that first night... or do you still have energy to see more of Detroit?"

Tony leaned back in his chair and smiled.

When have you ever known me to drop out of a party.

Hope wandered quietly into the establishment.  She wasn't certain if it was still up and running or not, but she had been determined to discover the different places that her family members wrote about.  She was fairly certain that Dion had been someone that her mother was fairly fond of in her lifetime...  Or was it her cousin Sairia...  Honestly she couldn't remember which of her beloved family members liked this one...  But someone did.  They had expressed regret in their journals that they had never gotten a chance to visit this place...  Well Hope would gladly do so today as she explored Detroit.  She wouldn't stay long, nor did she bother to try the tea and crumpets even.  But she did walk in if it wasn't boarded up or off limits or something equally silly.  She would wander over and run her fingertips over the walls and grin just a tad to herself.  "One down..."  She whispered softly to herself.  Making a mental note of this place, she would turn around again and walk right back out through the door she had come in to head off again down the street.  Lowering her head as she walked, she felt one of those irritating tears prick the back of her eyes.  "I will never forget."  She murmured softly.  In a world full of like-minded people, it was amazing how alone one could feel without those that were the world to you.  But that was a sob story for another time.  For now she would raise her head high and enjoy her explorations of Detroit.
