well, let's say a fresh thug just came out to the streets as he walks around he spots a Godfather...

I don't thing he would know how many BGs he has, all he knows is that he is OWP...

Ok, now say the thug have encountered a GF in the streets with say 5-10 BGs at his side... next time he saw ether the same ones ore a few other etc..

then the GF's profile would show:

Bodyguards: OWP

Number of Bodyguards: 10 (that you know of)

in time with more and more encounteres in the streets or business district the number will rise until it reaches it's maximum.

hiding the number of bgs is one thing and by applying this then it is up to the user's stealth to hid his BGs but i do believe that knowing the exact number of BGs is possible and on the RP side it is perfectly normal.

The users stealth stat decides who he can and can't see in the locals list, the number of BG's should be the same.

Although I have probably misunderstood this idea, what I think you are saying if person "A" visits the street several times a day person "B" will be able to determine how many BGs person "A" has? This is in my opinion a deterent to come to the streets which are already quite bare and barren...

I think what he's saying is if he is in the same city as you and clicks onyour profile... IE he's looking right at you, he see's you have BGs. Every city he see's you in after that, and looks at your profile, he gets more of an idea as to exactly howmany BGs you have.

But I could be wrong myself. Its not 100% clear to be certain.

Judge point is taken but this is a definent deterent now that I have re read the suggestion. A suggestion with good intentions but as you pick at it, it could use work if wecould work the bugs with this i am all for it :)

also it would have people just trawling through their locals, refreshing the page on GF's etc.

not a bad idea, but i agree with JudgeDeath and Prophet, it does have it's flaws.

I guess this would only really be relevant for anyone over Insanely Well Proteccted. Whilst you don't know for certain how many BGs anyone below this has, you can calculate the minimum and maximum on the basis of their protection status.

I've always enjoyed the mystery of this game. You don't know for sure how many kills someone has. You don't know for sure how many bodyguards they have. It is one of the exciting elements of the game to me, so I would be very hesitant to see it change.

let me put it this way...

when person A posts in person B's thread in the streets that means they have met "face to face" meaning you can actually see him right in front of you with his surrounding BGs

thus if person B has with him say... 10 then it will show on the profile page that he has 10 that you know of... etc...

Again sir you have put in another deterrent, and like Gwarble said the mystery and tactical part of a war BGs play will be a hard thing to chance and become accustom to. Honestly I think you need to re-think this idea, while good for it's RP value a player must enjoy the game as well, and if posting lessened your chances in a war, well I know I wouldn't post.
