I bet that caught your attention, didn't it? Good old rhyme. There is, in my opinion, a thoroughly asinine trend sweeping the nation. A trend which is even more asinine than something which has just won an asininity contest in asinine-land. Yeah, it's that bad. The trend of which I speak is of how people present themselves. When I talk about self presentation, I'd imagine most of you think of the way people speak in the streets; for sure, the things we say do give a lasting impression on how we are perceived in the eyes of others, but that's not what I'm ranting hysterically about today. No, I'm just here to pose a question to the minority. Why do you feel the need to embarrass yourself with your signs? You can never make a second first impression, and often, a person's mind is made up when they see your sign. So why indiciate to people that your "status[is]: Lacking in originality" or "Status: being a sheep." ? Perhaps I'm getting old and my cantankerous nature is catching up with me, but when I see a list of the most startling banality possible, such as every JB one has ever succeeded in, I can't help but die a little inside. Whatever will be next, "Success! You mailed Octavius" ? Of course, those are just little fads that tend to annoy, I've not even started about the people who display loyalty to past families and IRC cliques before they do to their current family. I expect I will hear an uproar of people who complain that this has always gone on, but as I seem to be saying a lot recently, since when does that make it acceptable? I'd have a pop at blockquotes too, but I'm quite sure Rudiger will do that more justice than I. |

| I've learned in my time that the majority isn't always right. People live the way they like and whether or not my beliefs/thoughts/ideas coincide with theirs, it really doesn't make a difference in the grand scheme of things. I think the key is to ignore those that disturb you and show respect to all, no matter how asinine their actions may be. | |

Cathy Parks was busy swanning around in her bold suit when she heard a familiar voice and a barrage of words not far from where she was standing. Tilting her Fez to a decidedly jauntier angle, she listen with sincere intent before clearing her voice and beginning to speak. "And to the topic at hand - yes, the signs that people carry around, incredibly annoying aren't they? Until I stop looking at them that is. Stops to speak with Octavius in the street.... I do not have too much of a problem with peoples status, I just choose not to follow the sheep. However, I cannot agree with you enough about some of the marks people decide to emblazon themselves with whilst they saunter through this thing of ours. When I glance around the place, I want an indication of who people are from what I see. Where do their allegiances lie? Which potentially unsavoury underground groups are they a part of? Where is their front, or business located? Not a pile of irrelevant garbage about something that is so commonplace to us. Tips his hat... |

It rhymes more than "Rudiger sucks" which admittedly, isn't a lot. Cronus, I'm tempted to agree with you, but recently, I've been finding it harder and harder to ignore something which I see to be decorum unbefitting of a mobster. Of course, this is just my personal opinion on the matter. |

Horrokore stops and listens to Octavius during his banter... Well seeing as I am, sort of, one of the one's you are talking about. I have a completely different view on this...err...banter. Or do I? Actually, I kind of agree. I used to be old fashioned (if you want to call it that) in the fact that I would only display my loyalty to the family as well as what subcrew I was in and yada yada. But in more recent times, I'd have to agree with the majority. It is always nice to have a look into one's personality before speaking with them. It is always nice to have a look into one's personality before doing business with them. And sometimes, when your in a squeeze...you'll need a partner quick for some type of crime. And when time is short, the only sort of "first impression" you can get is in their sign. Well, really....that's wrong. I would never commit a crime with someone I don't trust and even less with someone I don't know. So, that point is mute. But still! They are good for something! I can feel it... Having made no real argument for his cause, Horrokore just steps away slowly... |

I tend to use mine to toot my own horn about being the best lawyer ever. But thats just me and one cannot expect others to be able to reach such lofty heights at any level of their own profession. So if you cannot manage to put something as extraordinary as mine. Don't talk at all. |
