Favorite drummer is pretty relative since it's based on personal preference, but as far as who is best I can't see how anyone can argue with Branston. Neil Peart is amazing. If you're a metal fan Dave Lombardo is pretty brutal as well and pretty much pioneered that genre of drumming and double bass.

A much lesser known and under-appreciated drummer is Dale Crover from The Melvins. I'm a bit biased because they are one of my favorite bands, but his drumming is exceptionally good

And for any Howard Stern fans out there, ever her Richard Christie on the drums? That guy is very talented as well

there's no such thing as the 'best drummer' and it just turns into an argument...

the one thing I can't deal with is people saying Lars Ulrich is the best...

but meh, personal preference I guess!

IRL once, I did have somebody tell me that they thought the best drummer was the guy from Limp Bizkit :/
