Reaching for her best red wine she answered, "No issues." As she turned back around to reach for a glass her eyes fell on Finnigan and stayed for but the briefest of moments before focusing on pouring the wine. "I believe Mr Doras loves his wife enough and knows the threats given to him were not empty."

Charlie handed Lucy the wine. "Any smart man would know to cut his losses and leave town."

I hope he is a smart man.

Lucy accepted the wine and nodded.  "Messy business this whole thing.  I'm very glad it was able to be handled so well though."  She raises her glass.  "To all of you, Charlie's Company, may you have many more years of working together in this thing of ours.  May you know only joy and your enemies only the unending embrace of the earth."

She raised the wine to her lips and took the smallest sip.  She smiled warmly as if she found the taste to be far more pleasing to her palette than expected.  Lucy made small talk with Charlie for a short while, waiting to see if Wrench or Finn had anything to say to her before she'd depart them and go about her business for The Godfather before returning home to see if Frank was back in town yet.

The Irishman sat there in silence throughout the majority of the exchange. Words were exchanged between Lucy and Charlie as they chatted about random things that might matter. Exchanges of currency were made for services rendered and everything was going smoothly that should go smoothly except for one thing.

Numbness.

Finnigan was numb.

He couldn't feel anything...

His high had worn off on the ride to the Bees Knees and even though he had been toying with his drink during the entire exchange, he was stone cold sober. He was emotionally and mentally numb. Adrift within his own empty thoughts, stuck in a bar with noise all around him and rooted in place by present company.

He honestly had no idea how long he had been at the bar or any grasp of the time. Everything and everyone was just background noise to the nothingness he was currently consumed by.

Suddenly his attention snapped back to reality when he caught onto the end of Lucy's toast.

….your enemies only the unending embrace of the earth....your enemies only the unending embrace of the earth....your enemies only the unending embrace of the earth.

The words kept ringing in his ears. He couldn't shake them as they took root in his subconscious and the ringing grew louder and louder. The Irishman looked down at the bar, closed his eyes, and desperately attempted to shut out the noise. The words receded from his mind but his thoughts drifted towards more questions.

Who are my enemies? Was Doras my enemy? Was Doras even a bad man? Do I even know the difference anymore?

He wanted get out of here. No, he needed to get out of here.

Finnigan mumbled a few uncharacteristic words to Lucy in thanks, gave a Wrench curt nod and a friendly slap on the back and then proceeded to head towards the exit when he caught Charlie's eye. She just stared at Finn while he stared back at her and he remained frozen in place for several seconds unable to do anything and feeling more vulnerable than he had in a long time. There was shame in his eyes and he couldn't hide it from her. He brushed off his startled state after what seemed like an eternity and he made his way towards the exit and outside.

He stared out at the street for a while contemplating what he was going to do with himself.

Lucy looked at Finn.  She'd seen that look before... in the mirror.  There were days she still had it.  What the hell did they do to that PI?  Lucy looked back to Charlie.  "Seems like you might have your hands full here.  Maybe I should be on my way.  I need to see to a few things anyway.  I'll be in touch with the next job in the coming days."

She actually gives Wrench a quick hug.  "Don't be a stranger."  She says, letting him read her lips.  "I miss you."

Wrench stayed quiet during their celebratory drinks back at the Bees Knees, quite usual of him.  Slowly sipping away at his orange vodka beverage while reminiscently replaying the pleasurable safe crack he pulled off just earlier.  It was a nice feeling having worked together with some fellow Blue Note Label members as he glanced at Finnigan - although the lunatic at times Wrench could see he was trustworthy- and then over to MasqCharlie who with a cool smile crossed eyes with Wrench. She was the lead in all this -the brains- smart and sexy, what a deadly combination.

When the door swung open letting in the cold Chicago breeze, it was the one and only LuckyLucy with her usual two most loyal bodyguards -whom Wrench had almost knew personally through proxy. Although not uncommon of her, Lucy never failed to surprise Wrench who greeted him with the most technically perfect American sign language his seen in what felt like a life time. Wrench looked star struck as he tried to process a coherent response, but could only muster a wide-mouth look followed by a round of applause and smile at Lucy's development and commitment.

She went off to talk business with Charlie as Wrench stared blankly at his near empty glass as he was still amazed by Lucy's signing ability. Wrench snapped from his daydream again this time to Finnigan's sudden outburst as he patted Wrench on the back and seamlessly left the speakeasy. What got into him? he thought. Wrench's attention then fell to his pockets where he pulled out the neat revolver he took from the safe he inspected it briefly and thought it would be a nice piece to give to The_Kid along with his cut from the job. Lucy approached and said her goodbyes this time more physically then left.

Wrench played with the thought of having another drink, but instead decided against it. He picked up his duffel bag, gave Charlie a wink and a wave goodbye from across the bar and headed home. What a day it has been, word will soon spread to those who decided it was a smart idea to fiddle with Tobias's political interests.
