| Your past does not define you? | Started by: McKenna on Oct 18, '17 14:39 |

It has been said, that your past does not define you, or the person you are today. She disagreed with that. Everything in her life was a defining moment. The choices she had made, the chance meeting with the former Godfather of Las Vegas, and his right-hand man. Every single, solitary moment, defined who she was today. She was a wiseguy in the mafia. Maybe that didn’t seem like a big deal to some, or to others, it was a terrible thing. But in her mind, she was proud. She was proud of the money she had earned. At first, she struggled with doing the things she was doing, but then she remembered who she was when Kharon took her in, a young girl on the verge of prostitution. What kind of life would that have been? She would have been a weak, used woman. She would have had nothing of herself left, after the countless men were done with using her up. She felt powerful as she held her gun in the faces of the people that wronged her. Some viewed her as a common criminal, perhaps that were true, but she was very respected and feared. Had she worked a prostitute, or even as a cigar girl in the casino, she would have been an object, there for the pleasure of men. Nothing more, perhaps even less. The choices she made in her life, had brought her to this very pinnacle of success. She had been devastated when she found the body of her dear Kharon. He was such a wonderful man, who never acted like she was his property. He treated her with much kindness, and above all else, respect. Being a woman, it wasn’t often before that, that she was given the respect that she knew she deserved. But, that was her old life, and now, she was with Chucky. Chucky was turning out to be a godsend. He was teaching her more about the activities his crew ran, and she was soaking it up like a sponge. Maybe someday, she would be handed her button. That was the ultimate reward from your boss. When you earned that button, it shows the world that you are a trusted and valued member of the society. Until then, she would continue working hard and bringing in the cash for her crew. They had given her a home when she was once again lost and broken. She was startled from her thoughts by the ringing telephone. It was Benito, he was running a trucking depot raid down on 14th in an hour and wanted her to join. She tucked her trusty P9 into her purse and smiled. This was the person she was, and this was the person she wanted to be. She slipped on her jacket, and headed down the hall and out the door into the streets of Las Vegas to meet Benito. |
