Perhaps not "cryptic", but certainly not "clear".  Your comment was dripping with sarcasm and never made reference to the post or thread which inspired your comments.  The best way to say something, if you want to get your point across, is to say it directly.  If you say something in a roundabout way, such as using facetious comments, the listener will have to interpret your meaning rather than being able to take it at face value.  Furthermore, if you make no reference to the catalyst for your speech, you might leave several people in the dark as to what specific event or type of event you are condemning.

Rather than hint around about what has caused you to get a bug up your butt, get right to the point.  I.e.  "So and so made a thread in the streets where he called everyone a pussy, and next thing you know, it is gone.  It is an unrealistic safety net to allow a mobster's words to be wiped clean from the slate of history, as if they were never spoken.  We should all have to live with the consequences of our actions here, as in life".

I think that is what Gene meant by "if you have something to say, say it".

Without even knowing the actual motivation behind the change, I can surmise that perhaps a street cleaner felt that "pussies" was too vulgar of a word to be in the title of a thread.  It's one thing to have such words strewn throughout the body of a message, but being in the title is like having it framed in bright lights for all too see.  It's simply an issue of establishing boundaries between what is appropriate and what is not.

I did know exactly what you were referring to. Unfortunately you didn't have the balls to put it on the line and actually say what you meant. One thing you can be sure of is that I have never went out of my way NOT to piss anyone off, admin or otherwise, it is one of the most enjoyable aspects of the game for me. Ok I take that back, I didn't clarify when I implied Gwarble broke Omerta in the streets once, just not to piss him off. The end justified that particular time.  What I find most amusing is that on one hand you boys think I tried to be all cryptic when the very way the post was written spoke TO THE ADMIN who did the deed. Just because you come out here and look like an idiot misinterpreting my post doesn't make your argument valid. I'm not quite sure where I gave any indication that I was annoyed.  You seem to believe only what you want to believe, regardless of all evidence (in print) to the contrary.  My sole purpose here was to clarify what Gene was saying, since you did not seem to get his point.  You still do not, it seems.

The only person here who appears annoyed is you.  First, you seem annoyed about the topic of this entire thread.  It was you being annoyed with something that motivated you to post it.  Second, you appear annoyed as shown by your constant hurling of insults.  I don't think you will find I insulted you are called you names anywhere, even after attacked first.  This is an OOC discussion, after all.  We can discuss things like adults, no?  Third, even after getting the answer you were seeking (albeit not from an Admin), you continue to try to win some sort of pissing contest that you perceive is going on.

This is just the tip of the iceberg of the ironies and contradictions in your comments.  Probably the biggest contradiction is that, first, you insult Gene's reading comprehension because he questioned the clarity of your first comments, which were a sarcastic way of making your point.  In other words, you are saying that he should have understood your point through your sarcasm.  Not much later, you conceded that "sarcasm doesn't work in print".  Try to stay with me here.  If sarcasm does not work in print, how can you fault him for not being able to understand your initial meaning?  (Although, as he clarified, he understood it just fine.  His point was that you were not making your point directly, but rather trying to hide behind obscure references due to fear of reprisal.)

Another irony is that you refer to us as "idiots" and "trolls".  To me, a "troll" is someone who posts merely to ruffle feathers, without actually making a point.  Can I ask what was the point in your posting of this thread?  Are you really that concerned about Scrote's life that you needed to raise a stink about an Admin action?  Your comments reflected an inability to form a logical, sequential argument.  As I am pointing out now, they are rife with contradictions.  I used classic logic in my arguments.  Gene also made valid points.  So, who is the troll here?  I won't even get into "idiot", because the unfortunate truth about that status is that idiots seldom realize that they are, in fact, idiots.  Therefore, it would be pointless for me to demonstrate your lack of thinking ability any more than I am doing now.  Just as I am sure what I am doing now will be a futile exercise in attempting to show you the faults in your thought processes.

While I'd hate to engage in an un-winnable argument with Sam (or the man behind Sam) I will say this.

FakeMan is right.  The post was removed because of the vulgar language in the title...and then Dr Scote (Sp?) reposted it.  It wasn't because he was saying something any more or less stupid than the next guy.  the cleaner felt it was inappropriate considering that there may be children who play this game.  While it's difficult to "police" all language that may not be appropriate for children, it's much easier when that language appears in titles. 

How do I know this - because I am (alter ego of) the street cleaner who cleaned it. 

I will agree that mobsters should not sit here and make empty threats. If you say something you should stick to it. This determines men and women from mice. Let's say someone threatens to kill me, they'd best do it, before i get the chance to return the favour. Actions speak louder than words ladies and gents. On the flip side, to sit here and disrespect them and to jest of their actions is not wise, get some balls, take some action.

A contemptous remark would be made to a lower status individual. Yet you both posit that I was hiding from admins which in the context of this game would be a higher status individual. In any event your interpretation of my remark is erroneous, you have read more into than there is by trying to READ sarcasm. And be sure, should I say anything stupid in the streets, I do look forward to it disappearing and I might even lobby for it. The problem is waiting for me to say something stupid in the streets.

Thanks Andrew (streetcleaner type) for coming out and telling me the what for. I thought it might warrant some action (the post) which is why I stayed out of it, perhaps I should not have expected more than a deletion and repost.
