After a long drive to the so called "Windy City". On the way I slept for a while dreaming about what he could expect. It's clearly not normal for someone to step into someone's car out of the blue. Then again, what do I have to lose? So erm.... What are we going to do when we arrive? I don't think you took me away from there without reason. The man doesn't take his focus off the road as he begins to speak. That place kid. What were you doing there? It's been closed since forever but yet you wandered there. Care to explain? I scratch the back of my head a little. I could come up with some bullshit story or tell the truth. After a second of thought he just spills out the truth. Why should I make up a story. Well it's due to the fact that I found some old letters from my great grandfathers and I knew where I had to be. It's not as booming as it was as was described in the letters. The man smirks and grabs a pack of cigarettes from his inner pocket, lights it as he focusses back on the road. He tips his cigarette into the ashtray once as he speaks. Many people knew that place and came to a downfall really quick. It was back then your so called "Philly" was still a busy place. Many businesses rose and people stayed there for long periods of time. I think they even had a strippers pole in there at some place, anyhow I digress. We're almost in Chicago. I grab a pack of smokes as well, lighting one up and lower the window a little so it doesn't get too cold inside. I look outside the and see the landscape fly by and then a thought comes into mind. I speak it out. What are we going to do now then? You never answered the main question though. He flicks his cigarette out of the window and closes the window again saying. My boss would have interest in you. You'll see when we're there.
A sign says: Chicago 100 miles. |
