Fear. Insecurity. Desire. Lies.

Of those four qualities I’ve just mentioned, half are detrimental to a leader’s ability to lead. The events of last night and early this morning are testament to this fact. I will take the time to explain all four, so that all may know my mind.

Fear. Fear for a mobster who has control over an organization will drag on a leader. What makes Fear so very insidious is how it warps the thinking of the leader experiencing it, till all reason is thrown aside. A leaders actions will be influenced by this fear, in a way that puts all work accomplished at great risk.

Insecurity. A more specific type of quality, that while closely linked to Fear, is worth mentioning. As a direct result of Fear, a leader may develop Insecurity. Whereas with Fear, action may be restrained by the very quality that is cause distress to a leader, Insecurity does not allow for this. A insecure leader will search aggressively for a way to eliminate the threats arrayed against him or her, even if they are only imaginary. This leads to the potential for far rasher action that threatens the safety of the entire Syndicate.

Desire. This is far more of a gray area, as compared to the above Qualities. Whilst Desire can be a greatly negative thing, it also has it’s benefits. What leads Desire to be negative is overreaching greed. If a leader does not have the ability to fulfill his or her Desire, whether it be the take-down and expansion into a rival city or aggressive extortion, the entire organization is deeply threatened by retaliation. Therefore, a Leader should always weigh in his or her mind whether this would cause an “overstretching” of Power.

Lies. Again, this is something that can fall either way. However, a Leader must know when, how, and why to lie. If that is not known, this Leader creates friction with other rival organizations. More so when the common mobsters are in on the lie, as such lies make the Organizations involved appear weak and untrustworthy in deals. Deals and agreements are a major part of Our World. To be unable to take part in such dealings greatly shortens the survival of the Organization.

As some of you have realized, I made a point to highlight the importance of the Organization and it’s survival. A Leader is nothing without the family, the crew. As such, great effort must be made into maintaining it.
