Kid dropped the last cardboard box down in his brand new HQ, in Downtown, Detroit. It had been a busy and emotional day, he had left the city that had made him the boy he was today. Luckily, many of his friends and fellow family members had followed him to rebuild the amazing Motor City.
Alright, back to buisness now. He looked around, trying to find the man he was looking for, without any success. Where was he? Was he lost? He ran around the HQ, passing the funny looks that where being sent at him. After a couple of minutes running around, he finally found the man in question, the respected Sandberg.
“You probably all have heard about my friend Sandberg, and how much of a good man he is. When I started the Blue Note operations, I was a lost little boy in this world of big and powerful men, and thanks to him and all his amazing help as my Right Hand Man, I have become the kid that I am today. It is with pride and joy that I’m announcing that he will settle down next to me in Detroit and run his own operations, The KinFolk!” |

The Irishman grinned to no one in particular as Godfather The_Kid professed his appreciation of Sandberg. The normally reserved Don Sandberg was the pinnacle of level headedness, professionalism and class. Finn felt it was a bitter sweet moment though for The_Kid because he was losing a heavyweight of a right hand man but gaining a new Don in this new city that was in need of new leadership. There would always be change in this life of theirs though and with it new opportunities. It was good old Sandberg who pulled me in off the streets. It might have been The_Kid who ran the crew, but it was Sandberg who gave a young punk Irish kid a chance and molded him into the man that he is today. He deserves this shot even if he’s too modest to say so himself. I know it was a disappointment for him in me leaving to join The Dead Poets but it was inevitable. Very much like it was inevitable that Sandberg was destined to lead his own crew. Finn never one to miss an opportunity for a chance at a good stiff drink, began passing out crystal tumblers full of the fiery brown liquid he so loved. Once all present had a drink in hand, he raised his glass and yelled, “Salute!” No sage words of wisdom or fond tales of the past were needed, just a much needed celebratory drink and the good company that surrounded him. The_Kid had said all that needed to be said. Sandberg was indeed a good man and he was finally getting his shot at his own crew and about to take Detroit by storm. |

When Papa Nurgle heard that Sandberg was finally sanctioned to head an operation in Detroit, he felt really happy. Sandberg helped Nurgle get on his feet, and the latter is more than thankful. Indeed, with the leadership of Godfather Kid and Don Sandberg, Detroit will have the raw potential to get out of the ashes. "Congratulations brother Sandberg! May the good tidings of power flow with you, and more riches to befall on your lap. I wish you all the best. Salut! Let's all work together to build up Detroit!" |

Sandberg and some of his bodyguards just came back from the fleece market. Fat Sal needed us to buy some groceries so he can make food for the whole family. In the bags we have all kinds of meat, vegstabeles and what-not. "Thank you guys it's a bittersweet moment for me, it was an honor to be your right hand man and a fellow member of the family. We believe this is for the best for the family, we must expand to become more successful. The Kinfok will be a branch of the Blue Note Label. Salut! Finnigan come and help me install this, I bought a new gramophone record player for The Kid and a new record by Glenn Miller 'In The Mood". |

Lucy walks up to Sandberg to shake his hand. "Congrats Sandberg. This news is well earned and deserved. We in Chicago knew this day would come for you and we're very eager to see what The Kinfolk can do in this thing of ours. Congratulations!" |

The new guy..
That's what rang in my head. The new guy.. For once, I was accepted. I felt enlightened as if I was a part of something grand, the bigger picture, the family. It was raining around 9:30 at night. Cold and drafty, yet still decent to be in.
I had no idea what I was doing, or what I needed to do, and then the Don showed up. Walking down the street in his long black trench coat with two bodyguards close by. I looked up as soon as I heard him sign. The brim of my hat creased with water as it dropped to the ground. I was smoking a cigarette, my hat down low. I happened to look up and his eyes and mine caught.
"Hey kid, why are you by yourself this time of night?" asked the Don. "I figured this is a better time than never to enjoy some air, a cig, and some rain. What'r ya getting at?" I replied "Heh" said the don, "I don't think you know who I am."
Congrats Sandberg! :) |
