I've decided to grace the streets with my presence to discuss a particular claim that I happened to notice on a particularly unimportant individual's profile earlier today. The claim, in effect, is that history is repeating itself in who our line of business currently has at the top of the food chain, as crewleaders and pinned this on Roman being at the top of the proverbial food chain, as his ancestor ThomasRourke once was. This individual made a point of specifying three other people alongside Roman. Jonnie_Reese, who is of the notorious bloodline better known as Premeir. Evangeline, who is of the notorious bloodline widely regarded as the Belle ancestry. Finally, Marcus, of the Gaius/Caius bloodline.

Before I pose a question to you, I'd like to address each one of these in turn. Roman, one of two Godfathers that currently dwells in the city of Chicago, who has survived numerous wars and reached Godfather through a will to survive and a good sense of when to duck and dive, but most importantly, when to fight. Jonnie_Reese, who's father died in one of the wars Roman survived, yet has risen to the required rank for auth of Made Man and has been granted permission to set up by Roman due to his loyalty and favourable efforts during the most recent war concerning New Orleans. Evangeline is now a deceased Godfather, set up by TheDean and not by Roman so this point is irrelevant when it comes to blaming Roman. Marcus, someone who is not even a crewleader and has yet to make a mark on this world, like myself.

With all this in mind though, there are two questions that spring to mind. The first is that I wonder if history is actually repeating itself, or if it's just something to do with the fact that once a bloodline is in our line of work, it's rare for their sons or daughters to change from that line of work. Might it just be that their children acquired their particularly useful talents from their parents, which sets them out above the rest, or is it that some families stick together in who they decide to trust with important positions?

Furthermore, I'm curious as to how an accusation can be thrown around that a particular bloodline is following in their father's footsteps for authing the same people that his father did, considering the sheer amount of auths that are currently taking place that were conveniently ignored when this accusation was thrown around. Did ThomasRourke auth the bloodlines of Captain_Stubing, Mr_AC, Invisible_Kid_ and ClarenceWorley in the past?

For reiteration, with this poorly selected instance aside, I'd like to see opinions on whether you believe that history often repeats itself, with the same bloodlines getting authed? Or are you happy to say that you're pleased to see newer people having opportunities? Colleagues and fellow businessmen, the floor is yours.

I think, regarding the auths, that there is nothing wrong when well known bloodlines get to wear the bold suit. There are many new bloodlines that get their chance as well. Authing an old bloodline makes sense as they have the experience of their ancestors. Like you mentioned Altidore:

I think this is an important point when it comes to auths. Also have these bloodline always worked hard to get to the position they are in now. You won't get anything around here without hard work and this includes many ancestors of those bloodlines. My family line has always worked hard and one day you'll get the reward for it.

The mentioned bloodlines have worked hard over many years and they have gained the experience and the reputation they need to get where they are now. Of course it's always helpful to have the right connections but that's a big part of organized crime - connections.

To sum this up, people are going bold because they deserve it, they worked for it, they made the right decisions, have the right connections etc.

In this world history often repeats itself in that there are some who are able to work at this thing of ours harder then others.  These people have invested more time into becoming a stronger figure in the mafia world, spent more time in coffee shops making connections with other strong figures, and putting in more work to the benefit of their families.  These people's bloodline is often seen running families more often for those reasons.

Also the family heads are more often likely to set up a bloodline that they know very well, regardless of the what the son/daughter does.  This is more because they know that the person knows how to run a family, and they trust them.  While this may pass up people who have been in the family longer or have brought in more money for a family, family heads need to set up people they trust and know will act rationally.

So basically in conclusion there will always be bloodlines which are close and will allow their friends to set up.  These bloodlines often invest a bit more then the average person into our way of life and thats why we normailly see them at the top.  While Im not completely opposed to this, I always like to see a new face being given the chance to lead.  There is a good mix right now of seemingly old and new bloodlines in leadership positions so Im happy.
