A few of you have expressed some concern for how chat in RP works (because of the upcoming Giving Thanks RP event) so I've launched #AirportLounge channel on irc.mafiareturns.com  

The Setting

The Kansas City Airport Lounge.  The country's central most airport.  There is a piano lounge for VIPs / Frequent Flyers.  It's private and serves non-alcoholic drinks (this is prohibition after all) but for a heavy tip the bartender might find something old under the bar - way in the back. The lounge has a bar stools, tables and chairs, as well as couches to relax on for those very long lay overs.  Entertainment wise, the lounge has a piano player and singers at all hours of the day and night - it also has darts, billiards (pool), cards - poker chips and a wide variety of other board games.

Helpful Tips

• Start out in the room by describing your character for example ...  /me is a (age) (man or woman) wearing (description) or something similar so people know who you are!
• Keep your description saved on a notepad so you can copy and paste it into the chat window whenever someone new arrives so people know what you look like.  
• Not sure what to do once you're in the scene?  Write your description, come in and find a place to sit.  Read what others are saying and doing first and then, if no one joins you quickly, go join the group who is talking by introducing yourself.  
• Any action can be "done" by typing /me... for example: typing /me jumps reads like this  LuckyLucy jumps

How you can join us for some RP Fun

1. Go to Chat at the top of this screen in the menu bar.
2. Choose Mibbit
3. Put #airportlounge into the custom chat channel box.
4. Uncheck any channels you don't want to join (divinelunacy is the main MR chat channel and it's totally ooc)
5. Then click the button that says "click to chat on irc"
6. When the screen opens looking for a login, use your site username and password (you can register these later, if you need help, let someone know
7. At the top of your mibbit chat (which will launch automatically) click the tab that says it's #airportlounge 
8. Enter the room as your character and join the fun as your character!

• Follow MR site rules on chat please.  
• Stay in character as much as possible (this is not a hard and fast rule but don't let oc talk become whole conversations)
• If you're a crew leader you can ask to be made an op in the channel.
• Don't do anything icly in the channel that you realistically couldn't do in an airport. (ie: no sex, shooting, bar fights etc)  If you do something like that an op will try to keep it ic (for example by breaking up the fight) but if you're being crazy about it we may mute or remove you.
