LouisDelRossi kept the vehicle moving at a decent pace as the crew made their way across town toward the last target in their heist. John, Frankie, and Jack discussed the plan of attack for breaking into the vault. The bank itself was closed at these hours but access from the roof was be available and that would be their way in. John turned to Louis and grinned. "Okay... We're gonna 'it tuh bank in Sout' Queens... So we go' abou' a fifteen to twent'y minute drive long as traffic stays light. When we get there, I'm gonna need ya to drop us off abou' six blocks away in an alley. We will foot it from there." Frankie groaned from the back, John and Jack looking at him as he audibly complained. Jack smacked him in the head then John continued. "Once we're out, ya need to circle tuh blocks an' park t'ree blocks on tuh ot'er side, in anot'er alley. You'll see a fire escape. Go 'ead an' tug tuh ladder down an' be ready for us. Oh, an' there be a dumpster back there... Push it next to tuh escape. Use tuh car, use your 'ands. Don' care. We be droppin' bags from six stories up. Gonna need tuh trash to break tuh fall or else we be loosin' all tuh valuables."
This job was going to go less smooth than originally planned. John knew the security guard shift would not be in the middle of changing and they would all be on full alert, but it was a risk he was willing to take. Jack stuffed twelve sticks of dynamite in his jacket and loaded up the Tommys. The men would all have five extra clips along with them. John stuffed two stick grenades in his jacket as well before sitting and locking away his thoughts while Louis expertly drove to the drop off point. Once they got there, the clock would be ticking... |

Sixteen minutes, twenty-eight seconds. The squeak of worn car breaks. The vanishing of headlights. The scrambling of feet and a mini orchestra of metal doors jarring opened and closed. Then the sound of tires slowly moving over loose rocks. The automobile was off again, as the trio got to legging it. Nice and smooth. Just as was planned. And Louis loved a good plan. He was a stickler for details. Maybe a little too much. Being fresh faced in New York, it was good to have John calling the shots. He seemed to know exactly what he was doing. Frankie, not so much. Fats kept the car moving. Slow, methodical, as quiet as he could possibly keep a noisey box on wheels, as he circled around to where he was to park and wait. As he turned the last corner, something ahead forced him to foot the brake. He slipped the gear into park, yet left the engine purring. With headlights still off, he hoped he could remain undetected while he figured something out. Another vehicle was parked a little further up, in front of a dumpster. Right where he wanted to be. This had to be it. This was the spot John spoke of, surely. His accent was a little thick, and it took Fats a little longer to understand the man, but he still made sense. Two women were close to the driver's side. One bent down, resting her eblows on the open window frame, ass popped out with emphasis. The other leaned against a wall close by, arms crossed, acting nonchalant. Women of the night. Up to their tricks. He couldn't help but smile. He was in too good of a mood not to. 'Just another challenge to mount, another notch for the belt', Louis thought, which was probably a similar line the broad was using to sell herself with. Fats turned off the engine and brushed his hand through his hair a few times as he thought about what the fuck he was going to do. He hoped the others were having better luck. And that this guy in the idling car would hurry up and get to getting lucky himself. |

John, Jack, and Frankie watched as Fats drove off slowly. Soon as he rounded the corner, the band of brothers took off. Rooftop hopping was a fun game at times, and it was one they planned on for the night. Climbing the first fire escape, John led his small crew up and across a few buildings until they came to one near the middle of their whole route. There was a roof top access door on all of the buildings, but this one was locked up tight. "There it is boys... Tha's tuh one we need in. Frankie, you're tuh locksmit', ge' on it." Frankie had his tools out in an instant and went to work on the three bolt locks on the door. He worked his rake across the tumblers in each to get a feel for them, then went after it with his tension wrench as well. Jack and John stood watch in case a guard happened to be on the roof. He shouldn't be, but sometimes things went awry and it was best to be prepared. Jack circled around doorway while John stood beside Frankie. He heard the first lock slide open. It wasn't long before the second one did the same, and the third. So far so good, no guards yet. The men kept their automatic rifles thrown across their backs, hidden by the coats they wore. John kept his silenced Colt M1911 in his leather clad hand while they wandered down the stairs into the bank's lobby. Everything was going smooth. Too smooth... As the trio rounded the corner into the main lobby there was a single guard by the front. John signaled the men to stop and wait, watching the man as he made a round about the room. "Get tuh drop on 'im an' knock 'im out," he whispered quietly. Jack moved quickly and silently across the room, as well as John who went in the opposite direction. Soon they were both flanking the guard while Frankie stayed behind. Jack nudged the desk softly, causing the guard to turn and look as he placed his hand on his gun. The moment he decided to head toward the sound, John was up and crossing the room silently until a loud *THUD* was heard and the guard dropped. John took his gun and cuffs, then cuffed the man's hands behind him before waving to Jack and Frankie who crossed the room to him. Once together, they slipped behind the main desks and worked their way to the vault. Jack made quick work of setting up the dynamite on the hinges while John and Frankie kept watch. "Set boss..." Jack called out as he finished. John nodded, but in his gut it still felt too easy. Originally, this would be right, but with the plan changes at last minute... This was going too smoothly to not be wrong. John and Frankie moved around the corner as Jack lit the fuse and ran. John grabbed his arm, causing a slingshot around the corner so he didn't have to slow down. As the three covered their ears, a loud explosion went off. Fire blew down the hallway as well as parts of the hinges. Soon as it did, the three immediately went to work. This would be where the game got hard. All of the guards were already making their way from the break room toward the vault. The loud concussion could be heard even where Louis was. The explosion certainly startled the working girls... Poor guy wasn't getting lucky as the two girls took off running, passing Louis' car in a hurry. One looked in as she passed by, giving Louis an eye before they were gone. The driver of the first vehicle peeled out of the alleyway either angry or scared, neither was certain. John, Jack, and Frankie grabbed the large safe door and tugged it until it started to fall. They stepped aside and a loud boom echoed down the long corridor again, but this time it wasn't half as bad as the explosion. Jack and Frankie hustled into the vault room and started to bag as much cash as possible. John tossed his bag to Frankie, "Fill mine. I'm gonna watch tuh door." He climbed on top of the door and stood, his MP 18 aimed down the hall. There they were! The guards hurried toward the vault, but they didn't expect a man standing on the door. They drew their guns but John was prepared. He squeezed on the trigger and the automatic fire let loose, tearing through two of the guards near immediately before the rest of the group dove back around the corner. John fell back quickly and tucked himself away behind the door's frame. Jack looked up to his boss, "You got it?!" "Ya, na worries, mate. Na me firs' fire fight." Jack chuckled, "Ain't that right, Sarge!" Jack offered a salute and went back to stuffing his bag. They were almost full and it would become three on about five. John poked his head around the corner and immediately ducked back as bullets flew toward them. He stuck his gun around the corner and squeezed his trigger again. Yelling could be heard as the guards hit the ground and covered their heads. "Ya ain' takin' us, boys! Jus' give it up!" John yelled before he poked his head out again. The guards went to jump up and bullets tore threw another man. John was used to trench warfare... This was easy, like shooting targets at the range. The guards scrambled back for the corner to get some cover... Perfect. John tugged one of the stick grenades out and lit the fuse, waiting a few seconds as he cooked it, before chunking it down the hallway. It slid into the wall about the time it blew up and agonizing screams were heard from the other guards. John was off, leaving Jack and Frankie behind to finish up. He slid around the corner and opened a hail of bullets on the two remaining guards. These men had -not- been prepared for the assault that John's crew put on them. Jack and Frankie came running from the vault room with the three bags and guns in hands. "C'mon boss! Let's g-" Frankie halted as he came around the corner to see the hurt that had been done. All of the guards lay dead along the corridor and John started walking to the front lobby again. "Well boyos, c'mon. Le's go 'ome." Jack nodded and smacked Frankie's arm to snap him back to the moment. The trio took off running and headed back up the flight of stairs to the roof. Unbeknownst to them, there were still two more guards who were hiding in the lobby. They followed the three up the stairs and to the roof, waiting until the trio was across to the fire escape. As the three bags dropped down into the dumpster, shots rang out. John and Jack dove behind the large units on the roof and returned fire... Frankie, having a different idea, started down the fire escape quickly. He lost his footing and fell, landing in the dumpster as his ankle landed on the metal edge. He screamed out in pain, but unless Louis helped him he would have to wait. Jack stepped out and pulled his M1921 around him, letting loose a hail of bullets at the guards while John reloaded. One guard dropped and as Jack used the last of his clip, John stepped out and ripped his clip through the other guard. The two hurried down the escape toward Louis, Frankie, the money, and the getaway! Things had gone rough, but they were nearing the home free mark... Sirens were closing in on the bank, but they of course were three blocks away already. |
