Charlie reaches behind her back and undoes the zipper to her dress pulling it down to just above the hips. Shrugging her shoulders allows the dress to fall off her and to the floor before she steps out of it. It was still young in the night so she decides to put on a pair of pants and a simple button down white shirt which she left untucked. Picking up the dress she went and hung it up in the closet. It was starting to get full in there. Capazzo and her really needed to go look for a place. Charlie smiled at the thought. She was truly happier than she had ever been and she paused a moment to look at the ring Capazzo had given her. A sort of sadness did fall up on her. How would she ever tell her parents this news. Walking out of the bedroom to the kitchen she made herself some tea and then sat on the couch waiting for Capazzo. Hopefully he would not be long. |

Capazzo finally comes through the door and takes off his shoes. He sees Charlie sitting on the couch. He smiles at his fiancee and takes off his shirt only keeping his white singlet on. He goes and lays in her lap and looks up at her. "Hello future wife." He smiles. "I hope you had fun tonight and I hope it will be forever as memorable for you as it will be for me." It had been a while since Capazzo and Charlie were dating. He had fallen for her more and more each day and as each day passed he knew she was the one he wanted to spend the rest of his life with. It was her who he wanted to wake up next to. She was it for him. "I hope you were surprised..." Capazzo had planned this day ever since Red planned the Charity Event and he was glad it went down the way it did. |

Charlie smiled down at him and softly caressed his face. She loved to stare into his eyes. They were doors unto his very soul and there was a depth to them that she wanted to spend the rest of her life searching. "I was very surprised, my love. My darling love. I don't intend to ever forget it." She reached to take his hand in hers and entwined their fingers, her thumb rubbing the side of his hand. She remained quiet for a long time. Once this silence between them would have been awkward, but not anymore. Even in the silence there was a connection. Bringing his hand to her lips she kissed it gently and laid her cheek against it as she closed her eyes. "Capazzo I do love you and for me nothing else matters. It doesn't matter that there is so much about you that I do not know." She opened her eyes and looked at him again. "Is it the same for you? I mean you don't know anything about my past. Do you even know my given name?" she laughed softly. |

"I do not know that but all we have is time Bella, time to learn all these things. What I do know is...here is this woman that I've fallen madly in love with and don't want to spend another minute without. Those are the things I know now and those are the things I acted upon tonight." Capazzo looks up into the eyes of Charlie. "What IS your given name by the way?" Capazzo found it a bit funny that he was proposing to a woman he had know idea what her last name was let alone a lot about her history, but all he needed was the here and now...that was good enough for him. |

"Charlene Costa and... don't you dare laugh at it, Capazzo!" She looked at him threatenedly almost daring him to laugh or make some joke so that she could shoot his ass. "I have always hated the name. I wasn't able to change it fast enough when I came to the city." She smiled down at him, "By the way, what is your name. No one has ever called you by another that I have heard." |

"Charlene Costa huh." Capazzo nodded. "That sounds interesting. You know I've never told anyone this but Capazzo is my last name, hell to be quite truthful it's not eveb my REAL last name. The man who raised me, Timothy Capazzo, I took his name. My ma and him raised me. She never told me much about my real pop. I don't even know what his name was. He didn't care for me too much I guess." Capazzo shrugged. "Doesn't matter, I had 28 wonderful birthdays without him. I learned how to walk talk and drive without him. I found a beautiful woman and fell in love without him. I now run one of the top Syndicates in the country without him. All he has done is given me two things, one stupid keepsake that I can't even wear because it's part of a set and apparently HE named me, HE gave me my first name." Capazzo sat up. "But this man Timothy, he was there for me growing up, he put clothes on my back, food on the table and a roof over my head. He took real good care of my ma and me. Then when things got a bit rough his brother Godfather Tony Capazzo also would help me out. God rest all of their souls." Capazzo paused as he looked at the floor. "This life tends to take the good ones and the bad ones, the underworld doesn't discriminate on that, good and bad is all one when death comes. But...I am going to carry on the Capazzo name and make them both proud. My ma, Timothy, my uncle Tony...I'll do right by them and bring the Capazzo name to heights never seen before." Capazzo got up and carried a pillow with him. He walked to the bathroom to use it but turned around before entering it. "You know they would've really liked you....CHARLENE." Capazzo teased Charlie as he winked and threw the pillow at her. Before she can react he disappeared into the bathroom to use it. |

Charlie batted the pillow away and playful growled at him as he ducked into the bathroom like a coward. Chuckling she gets up from the couch and moves to sit at the desk. Pulling the drawer open she removed a stack of letters she had put in there the other day. They were all letters from her mother that came religious once a week. She had the contents all memorized. They mostly talked about her father and the bakery, words of wisdom from a mother to her daughter, gratitude for the money she was sending home, and astonishment that jobs were paying so good in the city. Charlie sighed. Her parents were extremely religious. Charlie had told them nothing about the life she actually lived here in Chicago. She knew they never would approve. Now her future was starting to collide with her past. If they would not be able to accept her mafioso life, how would they ever come to accept Capazzo, a Don in this thing of theirs. |

| Capazzo came out of the bathroom and Charlie turned around in her seat. "Darling do you think you would have a day available soon that we could travel down to Peoria? | |

Capazzo washed his hands and came out of the bathroom. Charlie looked at him and asked him if he had any availability to go to Peoria. The truth was he had absolutely no time to travel anywhere, as a a boss his work was never ending but Capazzo was fine with that. He knew the terms when he accepted Don Torretta's offer to run a crew beside him in South Side. Capazzo had long ago made a promise to being a mafioso 100% through and through and that didn't stop here as a Don. He would have to work even more...harder...and smarter. He was up to the task. Although he had no time to travel...on the flip side, for Charlie...he could and would do anything including what he thought she was about to ask. "I really have no time to travel...." He told Charlie standing in front of her as she sat on the desk and looked disappointed. He got closer to her and put his arms around her waist. "But for YOU I will always and forever make time." With that he kissed Charlie on her forehead and smiled. |

Charlie's whole face lite up and she cupped the side of his as she kissed him. "My parents live in Peoria. I couldn't not get married with at least telling them." She looked down for a moment and then lifted the envelopes a bit. "There is something else I should tell you." She looked back into his eyes, "My parents have no idea that I am in the mafia. They uh... think I am a secretary working for an aviation company with a government contract." She pursed her lips and added, "I was raised in a very devote Roman Cathotic home. They would never approve of what I do and it was the only thing I could think of that would account for the money I have been sending them." She sighed. "Look I am the one who created this mess with my parents by not being honest with them from the start. I will completely understand if you would prefer I go by myself to tell them. I am a big girl capable of cleaning up after myself and I know you have a lot on your plate here." |

Capazzo looks on as Charlie explains the reasons why she has to keep this life a secret from her parents back home. He completely understands, this wasn't like being a doctor or lawyer, there was no easy way of saying 'hey mom and dad I am in the mafia!' Were his parents alive and not connected to this sort of life he too would be going through the same angst Charlie was. Capazzo wants to let her know that he will be right by her side no matter what...through all of it. "Bella, I absolutely think you should tell your parents we're getting married. You would never forgive yourself if we got married and you didn't at least reach out to them and extend an invitation. I know you, I know you want them there on that day, for your dad to give you away. It's every girl's dream isn't it?" He holds her hand as she sits and caresses it. He brings her head into his stomach as he stands. He holds her for a moment then backs away. "Don't worry, I am right here by your side." He then grabs her hand, picks her up and throws her up on his shoulder as he walks her over to the sofa and gently throws her on to it. He then climbs on top of her. "Listen, you can't get rid of me that easily! I will be right there when you talk to them. I know you created this, that's fine and yes I do have a lot on my plate but you know what? Right NOW, this IS my plate so go ahead and have someone in my office make reservations for us to get to Peoria, whenever you want. Okay?" He grabs her hand and kisses it then interlocks his fingers with hers. He holds up their hands together as the light catches the big diamond on her hand perfectly making it sparkle. "From here on out its you and me, we're a team, through thick and thin. So I will be there for you because that's what all good partners do. Okay? ...Got it? Good!" He smiles and playfully tickles her while he nibbles on her neck. |
