Dog’s favorite thing to do by far was howl. In the lab, everything was silent. The minutes, hours, days, they all passed in seamless fluidity. When he and Jamie played, he would let out a spirited awoo! When it was time to eat and he could not contain his excitement, he would get out a sharp oo! He loved that his voice could cause a reaction. And he loved to hear Jamie’s voice in return.
Dog also liked listening to Jamie talking to other humans. He watched as she did business. She might accomodate with a warm smile. She might rejected with a firm stance. Usually, Jamie found a way to smile. They walked the streets confidently as a pack. Dog found his stride, and his voice.
Dog and Jamie also taught one another to hunt. Together, they explored the deepest valleys of the nearby forests searching for all kinds of prey. Dog’s nose was incredible, and he could practically map the wildlife in the forest from the trailhead. Jamie was a master marksman. She could put down anything in the forest from 300 yards. They moved as a single unit through the forest, dealing devastation to whatever creatures they laid their sights on.
