| GAME CHANGE: Marketplace Minimums. | Started by: Squishy on Nov 30, '17 19:22 |

To further stabilize the economy, the game will now have a steady supply of credits on the right side of the market at 420k. The game will also list on the left side of the market at 525,000 when there are no credits available, when credits become available and posted by users, it will stop listing. |

You mean steady supply of cash for credits I suppose. But is there a need to stabilize the economy at all? |

I really dislike this change, I think it's better to let the market fluctuate and just take it's course. It's nice to have times where credits go for nearly 500k but then sometimes they only go for like 200k. It let's you know what state the game is in |

I agree with Vincent, I think that trying to forcibly control the market kind of ruins the game. Setting a maximum itself has detrimental effect on the economy, since it tells everyone that selling credits under that is "underprice" even when it is, in fact, not because the real price is somewhere else.
Adding a listing above possible maximum is actually less harmful since it will not have any effect 90% of time. |

When the market is as small as ours, it is too easy to manipulate. If we removed the 500k max limit, credits would be way over 500k, out pricing them from players who cant play crazy amounts of hours a day to generate income, and require them to open real life wallets. Without a bottom limit during times of crisis, for example after a large war, the both sides of the market are decimated. The dead now do not have the ability to recoup unless they try to do so at 1/2 the going rate. The top tier of the game now can double fuck the those they just killed by financially hitting their new characters by buying the credits at half price, later reselling them back to the same people at a large mark up. After dying and losing all your work, the last thing a player should have to do is open up their wallet and purchase twice the amount of credits to get started again. The better solution would be a straight forward single price for credits. If you sell, its the same price as if you buy. If you have 7% of the marketplace listings, you get 7% of the sales. This would allow no profit making from the marketplace. But, by leaving an 80k swing, that gives users a range up to 19% to determine how fast they want to sell their credits, or how fast they want to buy them. I think this 19% is a fair number that allows people to profit off of both sides, and cuts out the predatory controlling of the market. |

Thank you for answer, all that makes a sense. And it's useful information for me, since I'm new here. When I was posting before, I was not really taking actual gameplay into account, I was just thinking about the realistic/capitalist perspective and didn't realize what the consequences you described. |

Effort to stabilize the economy should be welcomed by all. Economy to me means consumption of goods and services. If the market were to cater to the rich and powerful, the economy plunges. I don't think this is a bad thing at all. |

The 420k ones are right side of the market where you can convert your credits into cash. There are better deals by users listed above them however. |

So even after all the cash in game is bought out I can still buy some through the generated cash that appears in the marketplace?
People die all the time how does losing an account inspires people to open up there wallet. It's a strategic move used by some of those at the top to let people waste there current credits then kill them, if my enemy cant support himself financially how can he afford to go toe to toe with me.
When there are mass amounts of credits given out for free the value of them starts to depreciate. If I need the money quick ofc I'll sell for 250k per. But this is not the people on tops fault. If you are speaking about the recent drop in market where credits were 250k or some ridicouls number. How about we blame the people who sit in over 2k credits, and if I am not mistaken credits had been handed out to those that got DD. There was a flood of credits and a race to power , but the market fixed itself up as It usually would. Majority of the community does not trade credits for cash during war so I understand your concern but i don't see how the people at the top are at fault. |

Termination you misunderstood. The point is that if there were no bounds to the market, group of players could take complete control of it, by killing the competitors and then keeping the prices as high as possible. That would be harmful to the game, as well as new players, who would come into world where one credit costs 50 millions. |
