Hey folks. For those of us that live in Europe, this is one of the most prestigious football tournaments in Club football. Tomorrow, 26th August, will see the Group Stage draw take place at 5pm Uk time, 10.00 Mafia time.

32 teams will be split into 8 Groups. I have decided to run a sweep stake for this. Anyone interested please send me a mail. After tonights games I will have the list of entrants and will post them in here tomorrow. Now. There is a slight difference to this sweep stake, as many of you will know the teams entered all start in various pots numbered 1 to 4. If you buy a sweep and end up with a team that came from either Pot 3 or 4, I will give you a bonus payment of $5 million if your team wins! Now how fair is that? (On top of the below detailed 80% of the takings)

For anyone else; they will receive 80% of the takings. The cost to enter is going to be set at 200k per entry. For those of you unaware of how a sweep stake works, I will enter all the team names into a hat and when someone contacts me to request one, after paying the entry fee I will draw a name from the hat to allocate it to them. Obviously names from Pots 1 and 2 are more likely to win the competition, hence the added bonus of an extra $5 million for anyone that gets a team from Pots 3 and 4 if their team goes on to win.

There is no limit set for how many people wish to purchase, provided you pay for x amount of teams, you can have x amount of teams. After all, I dont really mind who wins the competition.

Hahaha. Well obviously I want Rangers to win, but i'm not that nuts that I would entertain the notion that they would win. Though, given tonights results we came pretty close to being in pot 2 tomorrow!!!

To say the Champions league lasts for some time! I can only imagine this could be a lose lose situation for people purchasing tickets. Since we look at death every day in the face..

What happens if there is a massive war and you die? does the money become void and forgotten?

I have to agree, the final is scheduled to be played on 28 May 2011, 9 months away. Chances of anymore than a handful of individuals alive at the moment still being alive in 9 months time is very slim... I mean anorexia isn't even in it.

True. I guess in hindsight its a better idea to run in the final stages of the tournament, rather than the start of the groups. Ah well.

Well unless you are prepared to tale bets at each stage... qualifiers are over but now its the group stages so those matches could prove quite lucrative.
