| I wait. | Started by: JackMcGurn on Dec 08, '17 17:30 |

I wait. Open. Aware. In need of a sign. Something to turn back the hands of time. To a better day. To when my heart burned. It torched my soul and lit up the world. It kissed my face as we flew past the sun. Beauty never looked so silk. So alive. It was at my fingertips. It breathed my breath. It charred the walls inside my mind. The god within. It spoke to me. It spoke through me. Beauty never felt so vivid. When the words spilled out of me. Gushed from the depths of innocent eyes. When I left the world and all behind. A better day. A better time. But she left. She flew the coop and jammed my heart in her knapsack. Chained and gagged. Bound and tied. Afloat on the currents of change. Where all the bullshit tastes the same. Where the cold burns to the core. Where my voice escapes me. And my cries grow deaf in the emptiness she left behind. A body stripped of a spine. She took it all. Me and what was mine. An identity. All the masks. But left the scars. The charred walls. A reminder we danced as one. And that I never truly existed without her. Her flow. Her lively fire. Her eternal shine. So I wait. I sit and look toward the nightly sky. I open myself. And I wait. For the words to return. For her. My muse. The soul of the world and all her forms. I wait... |

Roger passed by, tossing change on the ground in front of the man spouting out poetry. He didn't have time to really stop, but he did anyway. There was something enrapturing about someone pouring their heart out in the streets. Something free and knowing, magical and whimsical... He found himself lost in time as the man rambled on, flowing his words together with ease. "Bravo, amico." Roger clapped as he finished and tossed a wad of cash on top of the coins and hurried off, now most assuredly late for what he was doing. |

Lucy, dressed in black - still mourning her husband, couldn't help but be touched by the beauty of the poet's expression. Leaving a small tip for him she continued on her way giving no voice to her feelings about the man's lovely words. She had to be home soon and she had no desire to have anyone see her with tears in her eyes. |
