The Delaware family and its members are always fun to kill, and they are a good way to train yourself. Unfortunately, one shot and your done considering there are so many people killing them left and right. To me, I think the timer on the wacks during the time period when the NPC's are alive should be shortened only for this reason. If possible the coding should only allow the timer for the kill to be applicable for killing NPC's only. That way nobody goes on a killing spree of regular members. Please let me know if this is a good or the worst idea you've ever heard. thanks

no.

I think it is good the way it is right now

Report Post Tip

Not the worst idea ever, but no, definately not... you'd end up with wars co-inciding with the durdens arrival just because of the reduced wack time.

Report Post Tip

Whilst this may sound a good idea to you, theoretically.

There is nothing to actually say this would make users gain more kills per NPC spawn. If you want that extra MIA kill then your sure as hell going to have to work for it. Even the state of current affairs does not warrant the handing out of easier kills. If you want a gun, work for it.
Just shortening the attack timer doesn't mean you'll get that extra kill. Afterall, everybody's timer will be reset so it would have exactly the same effect as if you all had to wait an hour all it means is that the more intelligent, harder workes will gain the extra kills as they normally do. It's not a matterof time, it's a matter of effort and using your brains.

Report Post Tip

The point was lowering the wait time to kill during NPC killing time. Why wait three hours for something like this, and only have it eligible for NPC's only, not other players. It wasnt a question of being lazy or not working hard.

Report Post Tip

But thank you for the input :)

Report Post Tip

say if you Make the first shot and you missed and the timer is now redussed to 1 hr or 30 min or what ever time you want then the more the timer is redused the more the miss chance you will have and this is done to even it out.

thus 4 hrs with 10% miss should be way better than 1 hr or 30 min with 60% or 80% miss.

I am absolutely against this idea even tough I always wish a shorter waiting time when the Delaware mobsters arrive. But it wouldn't be fair to the other players who can't be around at the time they're spawned. It already is hard enough to get one of the left Durdens when you can log on a bit later now if people can shoot like crazy none would be left and all the fun would be over in one to two hours.

If the time would be reduced during a spawn then in my opinion there need to be more Durdens to be at least a bit fair for others.

I think it's fine as it is, like JesTer said. I don't think the timers need to be reduced or anything. The times we have for all actions around here are perfectly fine in my opinion.

Report Post Tip

JudgeDeath he did state that it would only apply for NPC members.

Report Post Tip

Not what I was implying McDermott... how do you regulate it?

The Durdens appear and I kill one, just then a war breaks out... do I have to wait the reduced time before shooting at one of my enemy, or do I have to wait the full hour as usual? What would show on my timer? What if the war ends as the enemy CL and upper structure is wiped out in round one, and I want to go back to shooting Durdens. Do I get the reduced time now, or do I have to wait a full hour again?

To code this properly would be a monumental task, just saying I hope something happens is not really a reasonable solution.

Furthermore as Neville said, shortening the wack timer will not get you anymore kills, becayse everyone's timer is shortened. All it will do is, as FraDiavolo suggests, penalize certain groups of people who because of time zone etc, are never on when the Durden's appear and if they're lucky manage to mop up a BG or one that is protected several hours later.

I'm in full agreement with JudgeDeath here, what would be the rules on reset timers and distinguishing between ncs and Rl players.

Also, it is a matter of intelligence and hardwork, if you knew anything about the process at all. You yourself would understand that.

Can't see it happening.

Thanks for the idea input though.

Report Post Tip

There is one way they could do this if the Durden's have a different counter so wacking on of them doesn't affect your actual wack timer that's the only way I see this working properly.

But I don't really like the idea anyway

Report Post Tip

JudgeDeath I'm sure they have away of tying the code to NPC and such. Kind of like how you can't wack X amount of MIA's after you use all of your own.

I'm sure the admins could manage.

Report Post Tip

By the way I agree shortening the wack timer will do nothing to help the cause. I'm simply attempting to point out it is possible to do.
