Wow! This family was one for the books. One to remember. One to emulate. It was in a class of it's own or as my father used to say, a league of their own. He spoke so highly of this family and this little epitaph will not do it justice. The leader Don LuckyLucy what can I say, she was simply amazing. She loved and adorned her family and what she created. It was truly a work of art in motion. RIP The Ivory Tower, You will never see a family like this one again. |

Sully smiled at the words, but one part struck him wrong...Very wrong. "I agree. An amazing family, but don't count our mothers and fathers out so shortly. What we stood for stands more than one generation. 'The Tower Still Stands' is not just an ancient, to be forgotten battle cry. We stand for the community. We stand for offering something more than just a simple way to pass time. We stand for the stories that can be told, again and again, by those who wish to be a part of them, AND by those who simply wish to read." He cleared his throat... "In fact, I believe we WILL see a family like this again, and again, and yet again. Because that is what it means to be a part of the Tower. We are here to inspire, and push ALL of you..." His arms fanned out in front of him. "Each and every one of you are meant for greatness in some form or fashion. THAT, my dear family, is what THE IVORY TOWER stands for and strives for. Greatness, and inspiration, from beyond the grave of one generation. Not some radical threat, but a radical resurrection of what our world CAN BE!" He smiled and stepped closer to those listening... "Everyone dies at some point, it's expected. What makes the tower great, is that it does not MATTER who falls, because we rise together every time. So stand with me, brothers and sister. Both in toast to our late Don Lucy, but also in toast to the new generation of The Ivory Tower! Community above all else! CHEERS!" |

Xena took a step forward out of the shadows and the rubble of the past. She wasn't the most talkative of people and it was obvious that running a bookstore left her with few words to say but many ideals within her head. Once the cheers had ceased, Xena cleared her throat and spoke, for the first time in god knows how long, in the streets. "Luckylucy was a good friend of mine and like you all, I feel like I have a right to speak on her part. Now, I wasn't a member of The Ivory Tower, I was a member of Capazzo's family - may he rest in peace, but LuckyLucy was a friend of mine. On more than one occasion we had long conversations and on more than one occasion I road that money train of hers around Chicago. She was an inspiration. A true friend to anyone who wished to know her. I don't usually make friends easily, but Lucy was the best friend I've ever had. So, lets give one more toast to Lucy and the Ivory Tower who made friends feel like family." Xena said before lifting her drink. "To lucy and the ivory tower." she said before taking a drink. |
