Blood Hunting.

I've heard a lot of speech about this topic. That this practice is not good and that it should not be done. But no matter how hard we try to deny it...it is being practiced and it is being done. Whether to hunt down an enemy's relatives or simple look for a friends relative...blood hunting has been in our system and will continue to be.

Another lip service. You fuck up and I'm sure you will have a hard time if not denied altogether the chance to be in a crew. Not with a Jr. attached in your son's name. He'd better have a major facial make over and have a different name or else he's as good as dead...just like his father.

Ahh Gregorino, The topic of Bloodline Hunting has been beaten to death the past few days but you did touch on something that I have been preaching for quite awhile. If your father fucks up, why would you want to be associated with him. If I happen to pop off and decide to shoot some random people, I sure as hell don't expect my son to be proud of what I'd done.

I would expect my son to Completely change face and try to start anew. Why some people think that they can get away with coming back as the spitting image of their mother and father and expect to get treated as a equal member. Now I know most people deserve a second and sometimes third chance, but no matter if they admit it or not, Everyone, remembers the sins of the father and will judge them by them whether they like it or not.

The reason being is because rp wise he is supposed to be a whole new person regardless of what name he/she has chosen.  The meaning of role playing a mafia character is that this is supposed to be realistic.  (sorry for the ooc) So let's say in real life your father robs 10 banks and goes to prison.  Would you be considered a bank robber too?  No you wouldn't and if you were, the people considering you a bank robber are ignorant and hold useless grudges and need to get a life and stop focusing on the past, just for example.  If you keep looking behind you, you can't see what's up ahead...

But then hank if you never look back then you dont see that gang of thugs sneaking up behind you...

Although i do agree, a son isnt his father and never will be. He deserves a whole new chance.

In many cases some fathers could of had bad ideas thrown at them and stupidly followed them or even got forced into trying them silly ideas

I am also a bit tired of these discussions, but I find myself unable to resist addressing EasterHank's point.

I disagree entirely.  Do you honestly believe that your father's reputation does not reflect upon you?  The house and clothing that he provided for you.  His career.  Anyone who is part of a community knows that you are judged as a family, very rarely as individuals.

For a more relevant example, I feel the need to quote a friend of mine, as he recalled a story he had heard of another crime organization:

"Take Sal Merlino from Philadelphia. When things turned sour between he and Nicky Scarfo while Sal was serving as underboss, he was petrified to leave his house. The order was out that Sal was to be killed. His son, Joey Merlino, was marked for death as well and spent his days in fear of being wacked by the ruthless Scarfo organization. Mind you, Joey Merlino's only offense to the Scarfo organization was being related to Sal, who had fallen out of favor with the Boss. He was never to hold any position of prominence in the organization, and at the time was most likely never expected to end up anything other than dead for the 'sins of his father."

If anything, your father's reputation counts for more in "real life" than it does in the crime world.  If we wanted to be "realistic," all families would be "bloodlined." 

The consequences for actions of your father are rarely directly cast upon you in this world--these have been special circumstances recently--but they always reflect on you.

Besides the fact that this topic has become very boring and this "new speech" could have saved room by replying in another speech which mentions bloodline hunting, I feel that everyone who seems to start a speech seems to be repeating someone else, only using different forms of words and context.

I don't know anyone who hunts for bloodline's these days, I'm sure it does happen, but not even half as much as it use to back in the old days.
