Pulling up outside Haz's place Gero gave the horn of his shiny new Cadillac V-16 a couple of beeps, telling him he had arrived. The car had only been delivered this morning, with a few optional extras attached, making the car almost double its normal price. The suspension had been hardened, the seats were premium grade leather. Only a few hour's old, but already his pride and joy. His other prized possession sat in the passenger's seat, a five year old camera, given to him by his mother on his 17th birthday.

Gero and Haz had agreed to take the new car out for a spin around town, and possibly out into the country, to see how it rode. He had also brought the camera to take a few snapshots if the feeling took him. And just in case his easel and canvasses were in the boot of the car.

Gero laughs as he watches Haz hop into the passenger seat, narrowly missing the camera.

I know.. Can't wait to see how it handles the roads at speed. Any ideas where you want to head to?

I know some mountain tracks north of here. Amazing views. I could do with some pictures to sell, the car didn't come cheap.

They're all custom made, so they aren't all the same price. But this one set me back around $20,000. Not bad for what you're getting. The most powerful one on the market.

Gero laughs along, pulling out of the drive and gunning north, quickly starting to head up inclines, rising quickly from the plains to a vantage point

while admiring the interior and the sound of the V8 roaring, haz thinks how nice the view is already getting.

There's something about the panorama.. It is irresistible.

He puts his face to the eyepiece, looking out over the plains. He quickly snaps a couple of pictures, then pauses

That's odd.. See over there? There's a dust cloud. No.. Two. Heading towards each other. There's no road down there, they must be offroading. What would they be doing all the way out here?

haz hops out to get a better look

I hop in too, pressing my foot to the floor, shooting the car in a quick U-turn and back down the mountain.

Just in case something goes wrong.. Have you brought any heat? I've got nothing..
